You are further warned not to assume that, just because a people are non-violent, peace-pursuing, and lawful, that they are pacifists. The Scripture declares that the Christian who fails to provide for his own is worse than an unbeliever, I Timothy 5:8. Protection from physical harm is an integral part of provision, and the true, Biblical Christian stands ready to protect both his own household and other Christians, using any and every means at his disposal.

Which is why all of those martyrs from the 1st and 2nd century carried swords and were killed while defending themselves. Not like they all just let themselves be thrown to lions because they loved too much to harm another soul. Noooo that wouldn't be what happened.
More and more I lose my faith in Christ only because of His Christians.
Jesus Christ, Scriptures for America. These people are Nazis. I'm not even exaggerating. Also, the guy who runs it, Pete Peters, looks like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.

In other words, just because people are pacifists, doesn't mean they're pacifists.
Just because people are not violent, peace-pursuing and lawful, they may not be pacifist, but that's the way people have to live.
Scriptures We Haven't Actually Read For America. Otherwise, maybe you'd notice that the family of Jesus attended his crucifixion, and also that Jesus didn't blast the Romans with +9 Righteous Wrath of Destruction when they got the hammers out. Hmm, not much Jesus-Fu in the name of family provision, there. Also, Jesus warned his followers of persecution; he didn't say "but it's ok, 'cause I'll fry their heathen asses for you if they get uppity". So, basically, Jesus himself is "worse than an unbeliever".
Yeah, that's about right for most fundies, I guess.
This is a perfectly valid point. On the one hand, if someone hurts or threatens you personally, you're supposed to turn the other cheek. On the other hand, if someone is actively trying to kill, say, your wife or your family, you may kill the bastard. Which is to say, Murder is OK when it's in defense of your life or your neighbor's life (Golden rule), and therefore isn't Murder.
On the other hand, only physical harm. No killing people for tearing at your doctrine. That part tends to get mixed up.
Okay, maybe he was stupid to add 'non-violent' to that list. That one makes you a pacifist.

You're missing an important point - even if this particular line is sound morally, these clowns aren't really thinking about it in any way. If the verse said the opposite, that you should let your loved ones die rather than raise a hand to the attacker, for example, they'd follow it just as blindly. Morality is a matter of making decisions; if you defer those decisions to some other authority, then you cannot call yourself moral (or immoral, for that matter) - you're voluntarily making a worthless automaton of yourself.
Ok, explain put the other cheek, blessed are the peaceful and don´t worry what you´ll eat and wear. Please, if you´re going to be a Christian, would you bother to quote Jesus?
Confused?
