Just for the record, the oldest (known) living thing on earth is the bristle cone pine found in the white mts. of N. central Ca. 4700 years according to growth rings. It has been shown that coal, oil, and diamonds can be formed in a few years. In lab tests a few weeks. Soft tissue has been found in T rex bone marrow, population geneticists have demonstrated that Neanderthals are genetically human, the human race would have gone extinct in a few thousand years due to genetic entropy.You old earthers should actually do some serious research on both sides of the fence.

With the help of growth rings in fossilized trees, you can go millions of years back and track evidence of large forest fires that are already known to have occurred.

Nobody is disputing the fact that Neanderthals are genetically of the genus Homo. Scientists are debating whether they are of the species Homo Sapiens, or a separate species, Homo Neanderthalensis.

If there was no interbreeding between different groups of humans, or if there were no random mutations, then perhaps genetic entropy would destroy us in a mere fifty thousand years. But as both of those things happen, we get new genetic material all the time, and some kind of humanoid species has been around for about 2 million years.

You young Earth fairy-tailists ought to learn what research is really about.

I have seen this "soft tissue was found in T. rex bones, ergo Young Earth Creationism is true!" nonsense thrown around by creationists far too many times. Yet I suspect that absolutely none of them have bothered to look up any of the research that Mary Schweitzer, the person who discovered the fossilized soft tissue they keep on referencing, actually did on the subject.

If they had, they'd know that Schweitzer et al. detail a number of hypotheses which are capable of explaining why the fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex soft tissue they discovered was so well-preserved.* And you know what? Not a single one of those hypotheses set forth by Schweitzer et al. invoked a young earth or any sort of supernatural entity.

In another paper that Schweitzer wrote on her discovery, she and her co-authors compare collagen taken from the T. rex fossil with the collagen found in a number of modern organisms, including a newt, a mouse, a fish, a chicken, and a frog. Do you know which of these organisms the sequences T. rex collagen they were able to recover most resembled? The chicken.** Schweitzer's discovery is yet another that the closest living relatives of the dinosaurs are birds. The fossilized T. rex soft tissue has led to the discovery of another piece of evidence indicating that birds evolved from dinosaurs. And yet creationists like DJ keep on citing the fossilized soft tissue that Schweitzer discovered as if it were evidence against evolution.

You filter all the science and only take up anything that you think supports your agenda, while ignoring anything else. That’s dishonest.
