I know quite a bit about evolution through studies, and it is remarkable to me that it is even a debate. The DNA and chromosome structure of a human being is so complex to think that a monkey evolved into a human is absurd. We have trillions of DNA cells vs. what a monkey carries. We have a spirit and a conscience which clearly animals do not have. That is God-given to humans so that we can connect with God.

"We have trillions of DNA cells ..."
DNA cells? WTF?
If you mean our DNA has a lot of alleles, than waddya know ... so does monkey DNA.
"We have trillions of DNA cells vs. what a monkey carries"
Which are trillions of DNA cells. They do have an extra pair of chromosomes, but hapily *we* have a chromosome fusion of the extra pair with another they also have. You should read about it, it is great evidence of evolution.
Hope that helps,
Grey Wolf
The differences between our DNA and our closest (i.e. Chimpanzee) relatives' is so slight that the fact that humans have one less pair of chromosomes than chimps made scientists suspect that chromosomes in our common ancestor must have fused into one sometime after the two species went their separate ways.
Of course, if that were true, we should expect one of our chromosomes to look like two ordinary chromosomes hastily welded together. Sure enough, human chromosome 2 has two centromeres (one inactive) instead of the normal one, and a long chain of telomeric DNA sequences (that usually occur at the ends of chromosomes) smack in the middle.
What's more, if you look at the chromosome to one side of this false telomere it is almost identical to chimp chromosome 13, and the other half to chimp chromosome 14.
(Aah, Grey Wolf beat me to it!)
See "Generation and Annotation of the DNA sequences of human chromosomes 2 and 4." by Hillier et al, Nature 434:724-731.
Everyone's beaten me to it. "A monkey evolved into a human", "DNA cells", the assertion that we have 'more DNA' than monkeys, etc.
I'm also curious as to how animals "clearly do not have" a spirit and a conscience. Why don't they?

If you really knew anything about dna, you'd know that most cold-blooded animals have vastly more complex dna than we do. It's because they have to do a lot more juggling of enzymes and things to make up for the fact that they can't maintain a constant internal temperature, and enzymes are especially sensitive to temperature.
"I know quite a bit about evolution through studies, and it is remarkable to me that it is even a debate."
This sounds right. But then you had to go and spoil it didn't you?
Let's say it one more time for emphasis, we did NOT evolve from monkeys, or apes, or chimpanzees. However, did your "studies" of evolution ever deal with the fact that we have something around 98% of the genetic makeup as chimps?
Spirit eh? Where? I can't see it.
Monkeys/Apes don't have a conscience? I'm pretty sure they do and it has been demonstrated.
Doesn't sound very scientific to me.
"We have trillions of DNA cells vs. what a monkey carries"
That doesn't even make sense?
"I know quite a bit about evolution through studies...."
Uh, just so you know reading Jack Chick tracts doesn't count as study.
"I know quite a bit about evolution through studies, and it is remarkable to me that it is even a debate."
I know. I feel exactly the same way.
"I know quite a bit about evolution through studies,"
Uhm... studies of what, exactly? Obviously not biology and evolution.
"We have trillions of DNA cells vs. what a monkey carries"
It's absolutely true! What a monkey usually carries is a banana (at least in most cartoon depictions, which are certainly as valid as the wholly babble).
"what a monkey carries"
Isn't that usually fleas?
So, you compare human DNA with monkey borne fleas?
You think an animal doesn't have a conscience? Ever seen the expression on a puppy's face when it is caught next to a pile of fresh poo?
Why deny animals access to god?
Shut the fuck up.
Lucy, Lucy, Lucy...
You have fucked up the concepts of evolution, studies, DNA, chromosome and/or cells.
Now be quiet, the rest of us are trying to think.
"We have a spirit and a conscience which clearly animals do not have."
Yeah, they don't go around trying to push lies as truth. Clearly they are superior to fundies. Seems your god gave you a defective product, but I don't expect he's very keen on giving exchanges or refunds.
1. Where is the evidence for a "spirit"?
2. What the hell are "DNA cells"?
3. What is your definition of complexity?
Given all that, I would conclude that your studies of evolution have not been particularly extensive. I really think that this argument from complexity is ass-backwards as no fundie ever provides any order of magnitude on which this apparent "complexity" operates. To say that something is "complex" is completely meaningless... and that's why your argument is worthless.
We have trillions of DNA cells vs. what a monkey carries.
What in heck are "DNA cells"? Does Lucy mean nucleotides? We don't have trillions; just about 2.9 billion (1/344th of a trillion), about the same as a chimp. "I know quite a bit about evolution through studies" sounds like baloney.
Whenever I feel myself running low on DNA cells I get a quick DNA cell transfusion. It's an outpatient procedure, and not terribly expensive.
Thankyou for choosing Ryan Industries for all your Plasmid needs!
The DNA and chromasome structure of an ape is remarkably similar to that of a human. Each human chromasome has a corresponding similar ape chromasome, except chromasome 2, which is thought to have arisen from fusion of ape chromasomes 2A and 2B. It even has cute little vestigal telomeres and centromeres.
Bitch, don't insult Rahja & Jasemine!
(My cats. I SWEAR I didn't name them.)
And everything else about that comment is just plain stupid too.
we share 40% of our DNA with cabbage, the leap from monkey to human isn't all that big when you consider that.
As a side note, DNA cells? didn't high school biology mention something about DNA being IN cells, in the nucleus, not actually being cells? becasue I am fairly certain a blue whale has more cells than we do, given how much bigger they are. Does this mean you will conceed that they are superior to humans?
Yup, it is rather absurd to think that a monkey evolved into a human. You are absolutely right about that.
The species of monkeys and the species of homo sapiens gradually evolved from a common ancestor during the last million years.
Humans are animals too, we are part of the mammal group, the primate group within that and the ape group whithin that.
We are more like chimpansees and bonobos, than either of us are like gorillas. As we are basically the same size, we probably have about the same amount of cells. And we all have the DNA in EVERY cell. We don't have separate cells to store the DNA in.
Gorillas can learn sign language and understand the concept of death. All social animals, or pack animals, have some kind of conscience, as we need to conform to the social structure of our pack.
Have you been able to prove the existence of your god yet?
"I know quite a bit"
Liar.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
