"I don't believe in an America where the separation of church and state are absolute...
Nobody gives a fuck what you believe.
Read the Constitution. Read the Amendment. Read the Supreme Court rulings on it. Read Jefferson's papers. All of them say that you are fucking wrong about what you "believe" in this regard.
"The idea that the church can have no influence or no involvement in the operation of the state is absolutely antithetical to the objectives and vision of our country."
No, it's not.
I have to assume you're one of those goofy fuckers who believes that the wall of separation between Church and State is one of those paradoxical "one-sided" walls that only prevents the government from interfering with the Church and not the other way around. In that case, you're a fucking idiot (even more so than I had originally thought).
If you want religion to muck around in government then you would also have to allow the government to regulate religion. That means setting taxes rates specifically for them, allowing and disallowing various religions and sects, deciding what you can and can't preach, defining your doctrine for you, and so on.
Still want to go down this route, Ricky?
"To say that people of faith have no role in the public square?"
Nobody said that you utter jackass. The rule states that religion, specifically organized religion such as churches, can't be involved in how the government is run. You can have all the faith you want, but leave it at the door when you enter politics. That means no attempts at establishing laws, regulating behavior, defining criminal activity, etc. based on your personal set of superstitions.
"You bet that makes me want to throw up."
You have a similar effect on many people yourself.
