I personally know some very trust worthy people who have witnessed such a phenomenom.
There is a Greek Orthodox Priest in greece who is a fool for Christ..
He is not very educated and in fact has problems even performing the Liturgy correctly sometimes, but when he performs the Liturgy He often LEVITATES several feet above the ground!
He always gets very embarassed and apologizes when it happens.
This happens TODAY and is witnessed by thousands and thousands of people.
Many of these Orthodox Saints, after years and years spent practicing the Jesus Prayer and fasting are witnessed LEVITATING, performing Miraculous Healings and RAISING THE DEAD!
Many modern Orthodox Saints are witnessed to have performed over 200,000 miracles each!!
Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying?
That’s a pretty arrogant and unrealistic proposition.

The real question here is: Is this guy just lying for jesus, or did someone else lie to him and he's just so dumb that he believes it?
The last church I was a part of was the Eastern Orthodox church, for about six years. Stories such as this one are common amongst the ancient saints, but are very uncommon today. The monks on Mt. Athos are said to have enormous supernatural powers do to their ascetic mysticism, but outsiders rarely witness such powers. They're basically stories used in order to try and convince others of their apostolic calling, especially amongst the heiromonks seeking their own bishopric. It's a power play.
Yes, I would have to agree with you, those hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses must be lying, who would willingly buy into such irrational nonsense.
Well, it's a simple matter of what probabilities.
Weighing the odds of a large group of people all lying versus the odds of the physically impossible happening.
Sorry, but it's far more likely people are lying.
I would take one genuine scientific study over hordes of believers any day.
"Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying? "
Not lying, just not seeing what's happening.
David Blaine, Patron Saint of "Street Magicians", has himself levitated on national TV.
I am a believer, I tell you!!
These are just stories and exagerations meant to puff up the reputations of those involved. No different than the stories of Indian fakirs levitating, ninjas disappearing in a puff of smoke, and any other cultural mysticisms.
"Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying? "
Why doesnt one out of the hundreds of thousands have a fucking camera? seriously, not one snapped a quick cell phone shot?
"Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying? "
They don't even exist, how could they lie?
This miracle of levitation is easily explained: The priest eats a steady diet of beans and broccoli and jet propulsion kicks in naturally.
Either that, or Saintolaf* is a liar and/or lunatic.
* P.S. I'm a Golden Girls fan, too, but see no reason to use Rose's home town as my username.
Grah, Jezebel's Evil Sister beat me to it.
"Well, back in St. Olaf..."
My God, it suddenly all makes clear sense! Ive been a fool to just think this is a group of nutjobs..this actually can happen!
..shit, I cant keep a straight face.
Levitating is easy.. Google "Kings Rising" and learn how to do something that would make the fundies bust a nut if you preach while you do it.
Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying?
Yes. I'm arrogant, what can you do.
"Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying? That’s a pretty arrogant and unrealistic proposition."
Are all the hundreds and hundreds of newspapers lying? That’s a pretty arrogant and unrealistic proposition.
Are all the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of witnesses lying?
No, just you. You made up this story of a levitating greek preacher in the vain hopes to gain converts to your superstition.
You are a liar and a fraud.

Classic Sleight of Hand there... draw attention to the person so you don't notice what's being done to lift the fucker in the air...
How gullible must you be to fall for that kind of thing...?
Oh... never mind.....
200 000 miracles, raising the dead, all in front of hundreds of thousands of witnesses??
Yet not one takes a photo, and not one of these miraculous events makes it onto the TV news or into the papers. Trust me, bringing the dead back to life would be a BIG story. Time magazine front cover stuff. But....we have seen nothing.
You wanna talk about unrealistic? Really?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
