The Church has been seduced by the NEA and is having a spiritual affair with public education. It has followed her into degradation, it refuses to stop embracing her, or to even talk about it and continues to offer up her children on the altar of "the American Dream." "Christian" teachers have become "Kevorkian christian's" who merely watch or assist in the suicide of children's conscience's. "Kevorkian Preachers" need to promote the Christian Dream again (which used to be the American 'protestant work ethic' Dream) and defend a child's right to be normal and to possess and keep a moral Christian conscience, as defined by the bible. Christian's need to be "all in" for truth if they expect to defeat this president who is "all in" for perversions and institutionalized, intellectual/spiritual child molestation.

And, as far as the perverse and institutionalized molestation of children, one needs to look no further than the church.
If anyone is tying to destroy the morals of children, it's the so-called Christian fundies of the last 30 years who have been brainwashing children to believe that it's moral to destroy what little safety net there was for the poor, to hate and discriminate agains those who are biologically different than they are, and to tell lies about politicians who don't support those "values".
Which parts of the Bible define "a moral, Christian conscience?" Being willing to kill your son because you think you owe it to God? Burning your daughter to thank God for a battle victory? Killing a fig tree because figs are not in season? Sending most people to eternal torment because they didn't believe Jesus was their savior?

Like a moral Christian conscience that says gays are abominations, that it's OK to force your religion into our laws, and that you should hate people different than you? It's not normal for children to be hateful assholes like you fundies want them to be, so I don't think this is possible.
I'm not sure you understand what "education" is. The purpose of education is to open children's minds, not to close them. Children are supposed to learn to think for themselves, not just reproduce a series of statements told to them by a teacher. And it's that that you find most threatening about public education, isn't it? That the children might learn to see what's outside your fundie bubble. You don't want education, you want child abuse.

I wholeheartedly agree that all children have the right to be normal, i.e. to not be brainwashed in any direction, but remain undecided until adulthood.
The latest time I used the phrase "all in", it was regarding a rate for the transport of a 20-foot container from Gothenburg to Manila (I work as a transport planner for a global company). I think we should keep the phrase "all in" to that kind of definition, thank you very much.

The comments to my post prove my point. The fact that this is a "Christian" news site makes it even worse, because at least some of you should be bible readers and able to understand parabolic thought which is the language Jesus communicated most often in. How far have we fallen in America? In Abe Lincoln's time, the bible was still part of the school curriculum. Children learned to read, think and develop moral virtue while they learned that they were special because they were made in the image of God himself. This gave them roots, a purpose for living and the tools to be normal, moral and sane. Public education in the past half century has basically undermined the previous sentence and given the glory that belongs to God for his creative power and genius and relegated it to the time and chance of natural processes of evolution a slap in the face of God. This in effect burned the book of Genesis from the very first verse. "In the beginning God
" Now, progressives are burning the rest of the bible by redefining moral values. In summary, the church has allowed children of several generations to be raised thinking they are just evolved animals. They have been okay with the theft of Gods glory by Darwinism and now have moved over while complaining a little, while the bible's historic role in shaping our cultural family values is relegated to the ash heap of American history
I am one of the few who are pushing back and making the case basically that America and western civilization will cease to exist, virtue, freedom, liberty and our fundamental rights will disappear as the bible loses it's revered and honored place in peoples personal lives and in our nation and among the nations of the world.
