It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that when Congress made sexual attraction a qualification for military service -- on par with academic performance, community service, physical fitness, or moral standing -- it radically altered America's fighting force.

no, folks, it isn't opposite day --- it's just the FRC talking, which makes it SOUND like opposite day.
"sexual attraction a qualification for military service"
What? Don't Ask, Don't Tell is for asexuals now?
So, only virile, sexually active men and women are welcome in the Force nowadays?
You nitwit! If anything, Congress REMOVED sexual attraction as a qualification for military service. Before, only people attracted to the opposite gender were welcome; now it doesn't matter who you're attracted to. Which is as it should be, I'd guess that all kinds of sexual activity are frowned upon while in active duty, so who you're attracted to should be completely insignificant.

They did? Why would they do that? I would think they'd want the best fighters not the people they are most attracted to. Who does the judging? I bet it's a Republican who's totally NOT gay at all. So stop insinuating that he is! That incident at the restroom? He tripped, okay? That's all that happened!
Being butthurt over gays being accepted into the military is bad enough - suggesting that homosexuality is now a requirement for military service is just plain ridiculous.
When you hear yourself talk...does it make sense to you?
Just asking because it sounds like "Bullshit, whining, bullshit, fap, fap, feign outrage, kweers is icky!" to everyone else.
A qualification? That only makes sense if they said "You're not welcome if you don't experience sexual attraction at all."
In reality, they have made sexual attraction irrelevant... under DADT, heterosexuality could be said to have been on par with academic performance, community service, physical fitness, or moral standing as a qualification, but now it doesn't matter who you think is cute when it comes to serving the country, and it shouldn't.
"They didn't make it a "qualification", they merely removed it as a dis qualification."
Fundies have major problems with logic like that. It's why they interpret removing mandatory prayer in schools to be banning Christianity, or how legalizing abortion means the government will force Christian women to abort their children against their will.
It's kind of sad that the crowd in the US are still throwing a fit over equality of service in the armed forces. Here in Canada, not only has it been legal since 95 and common-law marriages recognized shortly thereafeter, one of our major bases, Canadian Forces Base Edmonton is flying the Pride Flag fo Pride Week. http://huff.to/14nSCAT Hopefully this nonsense dies down soon and people can start to focus on real problems.

Well, the uniforms could use a make-over. Khaki and olive-drab are so last decade.
Soooo... eliminating sexual attraction as a factor in qualification is, in fact, making it a requirement?
Stupid people really found a home in religion, didn't they? At least it keeps them out of scientific pursuits. Just imagine the mess they'd cause.
Sacred band of Thebes.
Look it up.
Confused?
