[In the Quote Signature beneath his name]
"What's the matter Darwin-lover? Why don't you just evolve some wings and fly away?"

Yes. Evolution is indeed a process guided by one's own willpower, and occurs within a single lifetime. Spot on.
Edit: Does anyone think the phrase "Darwin lover", in both form and tone, sounds menacing like "N****r lover"? I find it odd that I am seeing a parallel there, but I find it even odder that this may have actually been his intent...
I would, but instant, miraculous, violating-the-laws-of-energy-and-power flight is the work of YOUR beliefs.
Go ahead, tell God you need a miracle NOW to convert a heathen.
Do it!
...
..What I thought!
Actually, I would love to grow some wings. Granted, I would probably have to hollow out my bones as well, if my body is going to be light enough to be carried by typical animal wings. Now that I think about it, that sounds pretty damn painful. I guess I'll stop.
I would have just as much of a chance as evolving teleportation powers, so maybe I'll try that instead.
Why don't you just evolve some wings and fly away?"
For the same reason you can't cure cancer by touching people, Christ-lover.
Darwin-lover? Never met the man and I tend not to fall in love with people I've never met.
Evolve some wings? Well I could try praying for them. Jesus did say if I have enough faith, I can get anything I want.
Have you clowns even visited this site? Matt is the moderator, he is not a Christian, he uses the quote signature as a joke, From what I can tell he accepts evolution as fact. Try a little research before you shoot your big mouths off. Bloody hell! Its idiots like you that give Atheists a bad name.
Heres a full quote,
While I agree that it is illogical to believe in supernatural beings, I disagree that believing in such is "retarded". It's illogical, yes, but not retarded. It's simply a psychological tool people use to cope with reality. I'm not going to try and pretend to be all high and mighty and put others down because of a silly belief. Sure I can poke fun at them, in jest, but I would never go so far as to call them "retarded".
I never intended for Googlism to be a protest against Christianity or any other religion for that matter. It is a practical religion promoting knowledge, first and foremost. We're not Christian bashers. Even though Christians seem to bash us quite a bit.
Kudos,
Matt

Why don't you just evolve some wings and fly away?
Well, yes, I've flown several times in my life. The most spectacular flight was using this:

Brought to you by: SCIENCE.
Now try to fly only by praying to your pathetic god. I wish you good luck. You will need it...
Whew, I'm not saying that fundamental deity based religions are right by any means, but posting "stupid fundies" in various self congratulatory fashions on a forum where everyone agrees with you is basically just whackin' it. What Matt was saying is that he couldn't reconcile the lack of evidence for a deity, but also wouldn't discount the rights of another person to be able to make that connection. My personal philosophy is a little bit different; that there is no possible method of truly understanding a being or beings who live beyond the dimensions we perceive, so everybody's wrong.
Regardless, the quote used as a signature block shows the exact sort of disregard Matt was talking about from an angle that would piss anyone here off. "Think about what you say before you say it", seems to be the message here.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
