If going to church is a mere religious activity, where people can sing, fellowship and feel good about themselves, then you are much better off just staying home!!!

Can't believe I actually agree with this hateful bigot.
Still, though, you did rape a 12yr-old girl, you piece of shit.
Well, at least in the cases of the churches which have banned you, you don't want them to feel good about themselves, since they don't follow your interpretation of God's Word. It's clear your Heaven only has Jesus, David Stewart, Jack Hyles and Russell Anderson in it.
Good advice, Davey the Rocky, for once.
Guess what, tho? I won't be reading your BS sites from my home computer.
Actually, prominent ( Hitchens, Fry, Dawkins) Atheists have pointed out that the ONLY value of a religion. But as it is "community" it can easily be replaced.
And I've always thought, even hating the whole stupid idea, I'd like to visit a black gospel church because they are going for that vibe.
Now Dave Stewarts idea of a church service,,,,fuck that and the moron it rode in on.
Why else go to church? I suspect those are the reasons that 99% of Christians go.
But then, I prefer to stay home. I have no use for ancient myths and magic mumbo-jumbo, and I feel good about myself without having to have someone tell me I'm special because I joined their special club.
Those sour grapes must be delish, DJ Stupid! Good!
I do agree with him that institutions and houses of worship are unnecessary to practice a faith.
To me, going to church is a mere social and cultural activity. Mostly it's because of someone's baptism, confirmation, wedding or funeral.
Sometimes it's visiting an old church for the cultural value, and the wonder (or bewildered aw) that people "wasted" so much stone, mortar, money, hard labor and hours (often centuries), to build a huge edifice of stone which would be mostly used only on Sundays (and yes, to be a safe-place in dire circumstances), back in the 1200's through 1400's. (The red one, the Church of Our Lady in Skänninge, was consecrated 1306. The blue one, the Vadstena Convent Church, was consecrated in 1430. Both are near to where I live.)

Fellowship is a verb now? Huh?
Heaven forbid that we actually enjoy ourselves and feel connected at a place of worship, rather than cringe and cower because we’re filthy, reprobate sinners under constant divine scrutiny. That aside, I never really liked my Orthodox Church, with its endless repetitive litanies of lifeless and mindless Coptic chanting. Even as a believer, I perferred to either stay at home and pray or bury my nose in a Bible during the mass to make the most of my time. If there is a God, I don’t think he’s flattered by that robotic, unreflecting noise.
Confused?
