One of the people in the building next door to the fiancee's and I's apartment is a church going, booze drinking, gun trotting Christian redneck who will scares the daylights out of me (luckily he's moving out next week to another state.)
Now is that all Christians? Nope. You see there are violent maniacs on both sides. What I do know however is there is less than a percent of inmates that are atheists, while we make up around 8% to 16% of the population. Small minority outside the jails, even smaller inside.

You wouldn't know an atheist is one came up and kicked you in the nuts. Which wouldn't happen anyway, since most atheists I know are opposed to violence, myself included.
And I never said I don't believe in Jesus. He was a valid historic figure and a great philosopher. I believe in most of his ideals, but I also believe he's long dead and going to stay that way.
And it's a filthy fucking lie. Given the percentages of Christians and atheists in this country, we would have a MUCH larger prison population, and there would be a higher percentage of prisoners who are atheist--much higher than the percentage of prisoners who are Christian.
Guess what? The percentage of prisoners who are atheist is almost nil according to every study. That alone is enough to blow your whole argument out of the water.

On the other hand, there are numerous examples of "good Christians" beating up gays, killing abortion clinic staff and shooting up places that aren't holy enough for them.

I know people who are Atheist and when it comes to religion they get annoyed when the subject comes up or just agree to disagree when it comes to religion and try to not discuss it all. However none of them have ever even threaten to harm or kill me because of my beliefs.

No, that's completely and utterly wrong. You couldn't possibly be more inaccurate? Where on earth did you ever get such an idea?
We don't slit people's throats for believing in Jesus. We slit people's throats for believing in Krishna. For believing in Jesus you get water-boarded. For believing in Yahweh you get burnt at the stake. Most Christians tend to believe that Jesus is Yahweh, so they get water-boarded and then burnt at the stake. But you have it a whole lot easier from us than Muslims do. They believe is the Abrahamic God and Jesus and another prophet called Muhammed. They get drawn and quartered instead of being burnt at the stake for adding in another prophet. But we burn the pieces any way. And then we take the children of all religious people and roast them over their parents flaming remains. The babies are usually especially tender, and they taste great in barbecue sauce.

Besides the fact that I will never cut anybodys throat for any silly belief he might have; and I rather prefer to ridicule people for believing in Jesus,
besides that I have to admit that one can get much more violent than just cutting someones throat.
Just study church history.
This isn't a debate that deserves to be intensified further let's keep critique to critique, not extrapolate it all the way to hate speech or ad-hominem / ad-odium arguments. That'd defeat and completely subvert the point the Atheist side would make that not everyone is going to kill you because you follow particular religious beliefs.
I'll just say what I need to: there are and will be extreme believers (and radical atheists indeed) who expect the world to think like them even those who think the very opposite.

Seeing the ideological discrimination on parade at this site (to say the very least), I'm afraid that there do exist some cases where atheists / the irreligious are attacked for ideological deviance. Jesus Christ was a spiritual leader who believed in compassion and tolerance, no doubt, but not an excuse or a provider of evidence for discriminatory speech (which is contrary to His teachings) especially ideologically sensitive statements.
Those guys, obviously, never joined a debate group or an English course, even remedial, for that matter.

A "Christian nationalist", anti-Jesus, war accelerationist, fascist white supremacist movement, that if allowed, might kill many other Christians, as well as Muslims, Jews, Democrats... Atheists don't care and may actually agree with the message of Jesus. But they care when you harm, with your hate and violence. If you were a good Christian, you wouldn't lie like that, war accelerationist troll.
