Over five years ago the Lord told me He would bring me to the one He created me for - he moved me thousands of miles and supernaturally provided a wedding gown and even a trousseau. When you're lonely you're also extrememely vulnerable, so I've left it entirely up to Him to bring us together.

I don't think she's a fundie (despite the fact she is on Rapture Ready). Later she says
"Like I said, He moved me thousands of miles, provided a wedding gown and trousseau....I'm starting to feel like the brunt of some kind of joke!"
I think she's just lonely and sad.
Holy shit! Look at this: image
"I am now 68 and have been praying since I came to the Lord at age 43 for a husband/helpmate. He has not seen fit to provide so I am content and I will say that God has been a very good husband to me and provided for all my needs and helped me through many valleys."

Supernatural wedding gowns, invisible husbands, non-existant lovers...
Hmm. I wonder why your alone.
"When you're lonely you're also extrememely vulnerable"
Yes, that would be why you've got an imaginary friend.
"When you're lonely you're also extrememely vulnerable,"
Which is why you started doing insane things because God asked you to?
God = worst matchmaker ever.
This is actually kind of sad. She's that lonely, crazy chick who sits in her rocking chair all day, clutching her unused wedding gown and deluding herself into thinking that her prince charming is going to walk in through her front door...
Request: this woman doesn't deserve to be made fun of, so let's not.
Edit: Actually, I'm starting to wonder if there's a way to help... has FSTDT helped one of the more depressed fundies before to become less depressed and fundie before?
I always look at these things and suspect that there have probably been a hundred places down the line where they've had some opportunity to do something to find someone but no, "God will provide." And someday God will be looking them in the face saying, "My me, woman, what were you doing all those years I kept trying to fix you up with all those nice gentlemen? What did I have to do to get your attention?"
This is sad. The RRer who deserves mocking was the one who said "we're celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary - it's amazing what God will do if you're willing to wait".
Way to rub it in, sister.
Miss Havisham, is that you?
Actually, this is really sad. I wonder if she also has the totally impossible to fill wish list.
The fundie way of life: do nothing, and expect god to provide it all for you.
@normfromdownunder and Antichrist: She's not Miss Havisham, per se. Havisham was going to be married and was jilted at the altar. It sounds to me like abidinginwine never even got that far...
how horribly sad. elderly or not, she wants to come out with me, I could get her laid by the end of the night, no probs.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
