Whether it’s good, bad, nice or nasty, it was created by God for His own pleasure. Everything God does benefits God in some way. He is a self-serving Being, and He never claims to be otherwise. We’re the ones who invented a God who only thinks of other creatures and pines over humanity with a desperate need to love us. But this egotistical fantasy is hardly grounded in truth. We exist because our existence is doing something positive for God. He has worked things out so that no matter where we end up in eternity—Heaven or Hell—He will be getting some personal benefit out of sustaining our existence. God always gives to get.

When all else fails, descend into madness and admit the generally accepted failings of Bible God. But, claim Bible God's failings to be noteworthy features worthy of respect and straitjackets. Job done.

I don't know; maybe this has something to do with the idea that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son to die for its sins. You know, one of the basic beliefs of Christianity, the religion you purport to espouse.
We found Vincent Cheung's wife!
SO, people don't go to helol for being nasty or even for not believing in God but because God wanted it? Without annihilationnism, to reduce suffering for the reprobates?
This is almost worse than the Christians who claim that God loves us and wants to save us from the hell he created. The idea that God doesn't give a shit if we end up in heaven or hell but either way will serve his self-interests is pretty, well, crappy. Why anyone would want to worship an infinitely selfish deity I have no idea.
sing along, everybody!
"All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all..."
Well, according to Christian theology, we are made in God's image...

Looks like someone needs a few lessons on the ideals of this lovely lady right here, the goddess of cats, music, dance, joy, and love.
This is one of the main reasons I left Christianity--even among non-fundie circles, it's still taught that the reason we were created was for God's own glory. I just couldn't reconcile the idea of a loving God with the thought that he created billions of people who he knew would be doomed to suffer forever, just to have more people to tell him how awesome he was.
This poor lady is projecting. So, if God´s love is conditional, don´t be surprised if people don´t follow him. For a religion to work as such, it has to give a purpose in life. If God is the selfish tyrannical prick you describe, well, his actions make no fucking sense. First, because he doesn´t act on that. He gives us free will, doesn´t interfere at all with our business, doesn´t manifest himself....................and so on. So, what´s the point of your theory?, why should we pay attention to you?. What if what you said is all a lie?, what was the point of your speech anyway?. When people open the mouth, they should think twice what they say.
Her stance is really more logical than most Xtian fundies' in my opinion. She has actually considered how horrible the Bible God is, and has switched from ignoring all His bizarre contradictions to 'Yes, God is awful, but he created us and can destroy us at a whim, so we have to do whatever He wants.'
The sacrifice of Jesus is a favorite. Why yes, God DID kill himself to appease himself about the breaking of rules he made up himself and applied to beings he also made up and the behaviour of which he predetermined at the dawn of time. That's reasonable.
Hey guys, here's something disturbing. On Rapture Ready, they frequently denounce Calvinism and warn about it creeping into their churches. Yeah, Even Crazy Has Standards.
@Doubting Thomas,
I agree she's a sociopath. But I disagree with your implication that not wanting to believe what she does is a good reason not to. I'll be honest here; I'm a coward. If I became convinced that an entity such as Jesus existed (the hardcore fundy version), sure I'd hate it. But I'd worship Jesus in the most miserable, self loathing way possible. I'm never one who fights an unwinnable battle which serves no point.
"and He never claims to be otherwise."
nor do I or any of us.
Somehow you think you are of a God. You have NO reason to think this but you still do.
We know who's deluded and lost. You are that person
Anna comes close to being a deist: someone who believes God exists but doesn't intervene in the natural world. She fails to take that last step, though, and inconsistently continues to hope God cares about what she thinks or does.
Beliefs like this and "Christians" like this are why people are turning away from Christianity (and religion in general) in droves. No one with an ounce of humanity wants to worship something that only cares about him/her/itself and delights in causing unimaginable pain to its own creations. That is not a god of love, that is a megalomaniacal monster.
What a guy this god is. Truly a gem.
Just another reason to run away from people who think and believe like this. Their true colors come through and you realize that chances are they'd throw you off a cliff if it would please this cosmic jackass.
Confused?
