One thing I find truly bizarre is the sects that believe increadibly strongly in predeterminism (I'd stab at the rapture ready crowd), also scream incredibly loudly about abortion being wrong.
This senseless blabber bears much similarity to the sermon of the crazy boring prophet in "Life of Brian". For your amusement, here the sermon ;-)
