Anyway, Bob wants to be my friend. The only problem is that Bob is overweight. While it might not be within my right to judge anyone, I've always seen being overweight as a form of sinful nature. Seeing overweight people (gluttons) in church tends to bother me. It bothers me like those people who smoke or drink, even get tattoos or piercings. In fact, the Bible associates gluttons with drunkards - "And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard" (Deut 21:20). What they do is mostly bad for them. There's no way it pleases God to treat our bodies that way. He made us in His perfect image. We weren't made gluttons.

Randy pretty much knows that the post is really about him. His reply "Before you confront Bob, you seriously need to check your own attitude" also applies to himself, whether he realizes it or not. Who is Randy to lecture us about our sins when he's clearly a glutton and a sloth? What's worse, his whole family is overweight, which implies that he's not taking his duties as Head of Household seriously. A godly husband and father would insist his family not overindulge in food.all appearances of evil. Bullshit excuses aren't good enough if it appears you're a glutton. By being as obese as Randy is and presenting himself as a role model for his cultists, he may lead others to stumble if they overindulge to be as fat as he is.

See, the thing is, a lot of fat people have a genetic disposition that makes it extremely difficult for them to be built how you want them to be, no matter how good their diet or how often they excercise.

I'm "overweight" (about 10 or 15 pounds overweight by body-fat estimates, obese by BMI standards) -- and I eat less and exercise more than most of my skinny friends.
Then again, there isn't all that much difference between the attitude of fast-metabolism skinny people who just know that everyone with a bit of padding does nothing but sit around eating junk food and fundies who just know that everyone who isn't part of their church is either hopelessly empty or a moustache-twirling villain.
