Ummmmm, they do realize that if someone is interested in both genders that they're bisexual, not gay, right?
Sooooo, let me get this straight. Because dogs don't have the vocal configuration of a cow, it is impossible for a person to be naturally gay and thus marriage should be disallowed?
Ok... Fairly creative, but I still give it an F in the logic department.
Well it has to do with some other video made about a dog that does Moo, and other animals' attempts to help the dog be normal and bark instead.
Really silly stuff.
Of course, I think the actual sexual habits of dogs are completely lost on fundies, and they probably just shouldn't have even touched this one.
@tracer
A number of wild animals are also gays. If you search around a bit, you might find articles about many homosexual animals that have been observed. The problem with wild animals is that, with quite a few species, you can't differentiate the gender with complete certainty just by observing.
It was the same with the gay penguins. For a long time, they thought they were male and female, until they noticed the supposed female jumping on the supposed male.
<<Just like a dog that says anything other than "woof.">>
I don't know what freakish nightmare reality you live in, but in the real world dogs make many different sounds other than "woof." Such as, but no excluded to: "wimper, "howl," "cough," and so on. My childhood friend's nutbag mother was once even convinced that their dog was trying to say "mommy" and I've seen dogs on talk shows howl out tunes to songs.
Anyway, this is a perfect example of your ignorance. If you can't even be bothered to spend a few minutes with a dog in your lifetime and pay attention to how they act and what they do, how can you seriously try to claim homosexuality is stupid? You have absolutely no right to try and interfer in anyone's life to begin with, but especially not when you are motivated to do so through ignorance, misconceptions, and your inability to see others as Human beings with different minds, emotions, and desires.
Okay, let's go down the list here:
1.) Dogs cannot "moo" because their vocal chords are not configured to make that sound. Gay people are configured to have sex with each other, thus the comparrison is moot.
2.)Why do they assume that the one gay penguin leaving the other is proof that "Gays can change"? There is such a thing as bisexuality you know.
3.)Most of the quotes they use in the "Born gay" section seem to be taken out of context.
4.)Once again, in the "Can gays change" section they completely forget about bisexuality. Just because someone goes to bed with a member of their own gender does not mean they are gay. There is such a thing as "Bisexuality" and "Experimentation".
5.)When the hell did marriage become the "cornerstone of civilization"? I thought writing was the "cornerstone of civilization"?
6.)Same-sex unions have actually been documented in several ancient cultures . Civilization wasn't invented by Christians.
7.)Reurning once again to animal sexuality, homosexual behaviour has been documented in more than just those two penguins.
8.)I do not like that goddamn dog.
@CousinTed
Most of the quotes they use in the "Born gay" section seem to be taken out of context.
Actually they're quoted in context, but they just come from NARTH, an anti-gay conservative think tank.
I have a feeling that this isn't really meant to convert anybody, but instead it's kind of "preaching to the converted". Nobody will actually be convinced because of this, but it kind of serves as masturbatory material for people who already believe this nonsense.
Jeibi -- Of course not. Transgender and bisexuality are way to complicated for most of these guys to understand.
Many mammals, including dogs, use mating behaviors as a show of dominance, either sex with either sex. Also, sexuality in the animal world is often devoid of informed consent. Are these folks really sure they want to use animals as examples of their sexual morals?
Now, on the site they say that the gay penguins are no longer gay thus proving that gays can change. Then they say why would we want to do something just because it happens in nature?
Which does two things, prove that the webhosts know that the penguin argument is a trumpable anecdote that no one takes that seriously, and makes a glaring contradiction a sentence or so later.
Guess what dumbshit? Dogs don't "say" anything. They cannot speak. I would've thought everybody knew this. I have heard many dogs that vocalize closely to the way that cows do (hint, cows can't talk either!), this has no bearing on what makes someone gay. Sherman the dog told me that he is issuing an injunction against you for the slanderous use of his name and image in your stupid ads. He'll speak to you in court.
Confused?
