(seems to be her perspective on Public Schooling)
Jonny can't read and Suzie can't write, but lets be sure we give them a morning after pill if their condom breaks and lets be doubly sure that they know it's okay for them to experiment with homosexuality because THAT is the politically correct thing to push on our impressionable youth these days. And above all other things, be sure their parents have nothing to say about it and to ensuer that, lets make it so they don't need their parents involved in any of this by not telling them eh?

So, you want to be the one responsible for your child's education when you can't spell "let's"? That's *elementary school* stuff right there, and she did it twice so it's not just a typo.
I'm all for alternative schooling methods when led by people who are educated and intelligent, but please. If you're not reasonably literate yourself, please refrain from insisting that you're a better educator than someone who at least knows their contractions.
You're part of the problem, bitchfeatures. Public schools need the support of parents too, not just funding from the government. Your attitude is part of why kids sink or swim in the public school system - because what they learn in school is not REINFORCED at home! Plus, you're just mad because you can't force-feed your kids misinformation about sex in hopes they'll keep their pants on until marriage.
@Syb: Three times. ;)
Also, "ensuer," and multiple affronts to punctuation. And I know multiple people named "Jon," but none who spell their name "Jonny."
Of course, "impressionable," "politically," and "homosexuality" are all spelled correctly, because that's all these people really care about anyway.
I was home-schooled, and then was sent to a private Christian school. In my experience, parents educated their children in those ways because they wanted their kids to NOT learn things - they wanted to keep them "safe" from "the world." It's the saddest thing...
So your solution to this is homeschooling? Private Christian school?
Sure, they'll be emotionally scarred into never wanting to have sex, but they still won't be able to read or write.
IF Johny cant read and suzie cant write, then please give them a morning after pill..their life is going to get worse after that.
You dont have to tell them its okay to experiment. You just have to love them regardless.
Yeah, I went to private school where they gave lectures on the evils of rock and roll (Richard Marx, evil debbil of teh 80s) and put the girls in a special class to teach them how to apply makeup to be Princesses of God's Kingdom. I think that you should probably shut the fuck up right about now, because the ONE THING they did teach me was how to write.
Lady, I'm a public school student. I don't know what the public schools are like in Bizarro World, but here on Earth, it's nothing like that.
The school does not give out the morning after pill. You need a prescription for that. Also, I have NEVER heard anyone promoting homosexuality. I've heard them say "It doesn't matter who you're attracted to," but they've never said "GO BE GAY!" Unless I'm missing out on everything...
There's a reason so many kids can't read and write these days, and it's not because schools spend all their time pushing sex. It's (at least partly) because many parents are really not being parents (and that includes when it comes to sex, unfortunately, and teaching kids to get along with those that are different). Schools have to make up for that in order to get kids to learn and they do a poor job of it because they aren't equipped for it.

It does depend on the parent, but yes, among the very religious this seems to be the trend. I chose to homeschool most of high school out of boredom (which eventually allowed me to 'dual-enroll' full-time, so I did learn something :P), but I only had the choice because my sister was going into middle school and my parents were afraid she'd go along with anything. . . that the teachers taught [y'know, scary things like evolutionary theory and other "unbiblical" things].
This is you 60 years ago:
Jonny can't read and Suzie can't write, but lets be sure to let them know it's ok to treat negros as equals and that segregation is wrong. Because THAT is the politically correct thing to push on our impressionable youth these days. And above all other things, be sure their parents have nothing to say about it to ensure that, lets make it so they don't need their parents involved in any of this by not telling them eh?
Behold, son, mighty triceratops!
...
Mom, that's a cow.
Stop talking back to me. You're grounded! Go read your bible and think about it!
Yes, mom. *roll's eyes*
Hm,
usually fundamentalists are those, who try to deny their kids education, especially about stuff that contradicts the bible and might make them start asking questions
;)
Jonny can't read and Suzie can't write
Possibly because of that fail NCLB and parents who demand that their kids get A's even if they're miserable fuck-ups.
but lets be sure we give them a morning after pill if their condom breaks
My school didn't randomly give out morning-after pills. They were on a tight enough budget as it is.
lets be doubly sure that they know it's okay for them to experiment with homosexuality
I wholeheartedly agree with you on this point! The schools should do everything they can to promote the message that homosexuality is just as okay as heterosexuality.
...so you're saying you want illiterate teenagers to be parents?
I wish schools would encourage them to experiment with lesbianism, at least they wouldn't get knocked up and their STD chances go way down!
I wonder where all the gay kids came from before it was 'pushed' in public schools.
Also, you won't let them have a condom to break, I don't know what you're worried about.
Jonny can't read and Suzie can't write but they can still F***. I wonder why it is the 'good Christian' states with abstinence only programs are the ones with the highest teen pregency rates? Could it be that sex education actually works?
Oh of course not it's Satan making up the statistics. In the liberal states all 16 year olds have already had their first aborted child.
You are aware that it's possible to teach multiple things in schools, yes? And tell 'Johny' that his parents fucked up the spelling of his name.
Meanwhile, we have kids being homeschooled by unqualified parents whose math, reading/writing, logic, etc. skills are horribly lacking. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against homeschooling when the parent actually knows what they're doing and I do feel that parents should have a right to pull their kids from public schools, but the sad reality is that a significant chunk of kids are only being homeschooled so their parents can control them and "protect" them from the big, bad world.
Fact is, children who are given "biblical" homeschool educations are A) More likely to have unprotected sex and experience an unexpected pregnancy, and B) More likely to be academically stunted. Public school may have its downsides, but it produces better results than parents who choose to homeschool for religious reasons.
Hmm. What public school did you go to, again? I know how to read and write quite well, and am very articulate.
Now, I haven't been out of high school that long, but IIRC, public school was NOTHING like that. No one was handing out condoms; that didn't happen 'til college, and by then we were all over 18 anyway.
As for this "morning after pill" thing, why the fuck would a public school be handing THAT out?? That would violate so many laws. I would also like to point out that not everyone in high school is a rabid sex maniac. I managed to go all four years without having sex (and I still have yet to get laid XD;). It's not that hard to do.
But for those who are rabid sex maniacs, I believe that they should be using some form of birth control, yes. If they're old enough to start fooling around, then they're old enough to be using contraception.
Jonny can't read and Suzie can't write, but lets be sure we give them a morning after pill if their condom breaks and lets...
If you are going to harp on me for being a public schooled child then you better learn how to use a comma. "Let's" not "lets".
it's okay for them to experiment with homosexuality
One does not "experiment" with homosexuality. You are either gay, or not. Experimenting is called bi-curious, and it is a perfectly normal thing for a young teen to be curious.
Yes, yes, teachers have long since turned reading class into orgy period where the students are encouraged to have rough, wild sex with each other...bonus credits if they do so homosexually...perform daily abortions, hand out morning after pills like party favors and then brainwash the kids so they can't tell their parents what happened to ensure that the parents are completely uninvoved with the educational process. Because, I mean, it's not like every teacher's biggest complaint is how uninvolved the parents are already, right...?
Confused?
