There was nothing wrong with any iteration of the Catholic Inquisition. The Inquisition served to purge the world of the Godless and Demonic; it is something that should be considered today, along with Crusades.

The Catholic Inquisition WAS Demonic. It was the path of conquest for The Pope at the behest of his Dark Master. And the Crusades are happening today, in the form of the Islamic Jihad (remember that Islam is a fake religion invented by the Vatican to divide and conquer the righteous and incite them against one another to pave the way for Lucifer's Rise.)

Hwaaaaa? The Inquisition? And the Crusades?
Those awful, awful times when people would be tortured and villages would be ransacked by soldiers who were acting according to how they interpreted their religious doctrine, which apparently included torture and murder?
Who in their right mind would want to bring that back? That would literally be sending us back to the Dark Ages!
As we can see from what the Inquisition did to the Faculty of Theology at the University of Salamanca, "Godless and Demonic" means any Catholic teacher, priest or monk, however saintly, with a Jew in their ancestry.
@ProtestantCrusader
The Salem Witch Trials were "demonic." The Troubles in northern Ireland were "demonic." All examples of terrorism and violence by Protestants were just as "demonic" as those by Catholics and others. Or rather, none of those were "demonic"--just evil.
Frankly, I'd be glad to be called "demonic." Stan was the good guy in your Holey BuyBull, and Gobs was like a Villain Protagonist without the sympathy you feel for him. Go read the fanfiction My Immortal . You'll find striking similarities between the poorly-constructed main character (Ebony) and Gobs.
Nobody expected the Castaigne Inquisition!
And if you call "purge the world of the Godless and Demonic" persecute dissenters and scientists, ou should never have any position of power.
Since we're going back to the dark ages, let's bring back all of the medieval diseases, too. And throw away anything resembling modern medicine and cures. Only cures practiced during the dark ages will be allowed.

You mean anyone who wasn't a Catholic...? That'll end well.
it is something that should be considered today, along with Crusades.
Certainly. They should both be considered with disgust and revulsion.
Either you are Torquemada reborn, you failed history, or you never read history. During the Inquisition, many innocents were tortured and killed. Godless and demonic you say? The truly demonic was that it was a way for the church to hold power and kill those who questioned it. It was hell for its victims.

And a few decades later we had Martin Luther, so the Inquisition didn't even purge the world of anti-Papists, much less the "Godless and Demonic".

And others too. Good idea, we could eradicate the Southern Baptists, Evangelicals, most other fundamentalists, and a bunch of others along with them.
Catholic Rick Santorum has contradicted the Pope on a number of issues. Let's start with him.
Let me just start with this:
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!
There, I'm done.
The Catholic Inquisition was used to keep the church in power and silence people who questioned the church's authority. It also persecuted people of other religions.
What if the Inquisition you're trying to renew thinks you are a heretic? What then.
@ProtestantCrusader
Jack Chick is that you?
Guys, I think Castaigne is actually trolling WLD. He's the only catholic on WLD, butts head with everyone there, and from arguing with him I've noticed he seems determined to misrepresent even Catholicism.
Still pretty damn funny to read, but I'm not sure if he means any of it.
It always really cheers me up when the likes of "ProtestantCrusader" turn up here.
It shows that some religious crazies are reading the comments. Although very unlikely, there is just a possibility that they may realise just how mad their rantings sound to the sane and rational. :)
Keep reading, PC, and try to think.
Defending the crusades and Inquisitions is par for the course in the Americas, even by many Protestants.
This may seem weirder to many of our overseas posters but here's the reason: We don't teach about the Christian atrocities throughout history, overseas or in the Americas, the churchs have effectively expunged that from the public and high schools.
It's one of the reasons the wackadoo "everythings been great since Christian America was formed" mindfuck is heavy. The system avoids any critisizm of Christianity, schools, newspapers and media, even comedy programs are heavily hit if they point out Christianities failures and hypocricy.
This leaves the churchs and fundamentalists in particular to rewrite actual history for their own purposes, some defend the dark ages churchs for the name of all Christianity and others, fundamentalists, pretend their history is free of such horrors to stop their flocks from wandering over to Catholism.
Why are their so many denominations and in America so many more and newer independant churchs? They're running away from their own history. Fundamentalist have even tried to seperate themselves from the word "religion" as they realize it carries so much horrible baggage.
If this person is serious, he's a monster; and if he's trolling, he's an asshole.
those are pretty much the only two alternatives.
Confused?
