Is Barack Hussein Osama a Muslim ? It appears so. Osama supporters will vehemently deny that but the fact is his middle name is Hussein and he keeps it.
If you were to change your name from John Smith to John AYATOLLAH Smith, people would (rightly) assume you were Muslim.
By itself that is not a problem. Here in America you can be anyone and still succeed.
What is amazing and comical is the attempts of Osama supporters in trying to hide his middle name. Why are you trying to prevent people from knowing the truth ? People should know they are voting for a Hussein.

First off, it's Obama , not Osama.
And second, your middle name does not define your religion, or anything else. I mean, my middle name translates to 'Johnson', and that doesn't mean my father's name is John (which it isn't).
We're not trying to hide you dumb cock. We're the ones who've been saying it's no big deal. You keep bringing that up. I wonder why?
I went to school with a girl whose last name was Hussein. Is she suspect too even though her family had lived her for close to 100 years?
Repeated?. Anyway, I should inform this person that many Lybanese and Palestinians Christians' names are precisely Hussein, which is the Arabic(not muslim)equivalent to John. He's not hiding that. It's just that people, usually, never mention their middle name. As a matter of fact, did you know that his father was a non-practicing muslim?, moreover, do you know that former president of Argentina was a former muslim too but his name, nonetheless, was Carlos too back then?
What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet - Shakespeare.
And, he has a point - names are pointless.
Well Vesper, that makes sense. He, like Walker, resort to amazing amounts of violence to get things done.
Many of my agnostic friends call their children Christian names, such as John, Elisabeth, Maria, Christian, etc...........and many of my secular Turkish friends and non-practicing muslim ones call their children Mohammed, Fatima, Ali, of course Hussein, etc.........why?, because names don't mean any longer what they meant in past, and of course, religion is one of them.

He didn't change his name TO Hussein, it simply is. Also I would be more worried about a person that changed their name to something more [sarcasm]acceptable[/sarcasm], and would wonder what they are trying to hide or what they were ashamed of.
Besides, it's a middle-fucking-name for craps sake. Seriously, who gives a shit. His name could be Barack Satan Lucifer Judas Beelzebub Springer Obama and I would still vote for him over Bush (not that I need to, considering I'm an Aussie, but you know what I mean).
Ayatollah! That's an interesting one. Apart from Khomenei I can think of quite a few others, like
Phelps
Robertson,
LaHaye
Haggart
I'm sure you can add to the list. Especially if you are an AMerican living in the Bible Belt.
"If you were to change your name from John Smith to John AYATOLLAH Smith, people would (rightly) assume you were Muslim."
I would assume mr. smith was pretty hammered when he came up with that idea.
"If you were to change your name from John Smith to John AYATOLLAH Smith, people would (rightly) assume you were Muslim."
And if you kept your name as John Smith , presumably you are a mormon, right?
Wait a minute, Jim Bremer ?! As in the man who tried to assassinate Governor George Wallace during the '72 presidential election?
And you didn't change your name, Jim? Can I now rightly assume that you actively support murdering public figures to prove your 'manhood'?
No, not everyone can succeed in the U.S. and this post is a perfect explanation why. If anyone steps out of your narrow world view, you rally the cult, and take them down as quickly and efficiently as possible. Seriously, I have no idea what Obama stands for, politically, but I can tell you, just having a name that's remotely similar to Osama, first time I heard it, I knew he would never have a snowball's chance in hell of being elected. Because of his name. It boggles the mind.

I don't have a middle name so that makes me an atheist - hmm... there might be something to this.
Or maybe it's just coincedence.
My middle name is Jordan, so do I qualify for Jordanian citizenship?
"Why are you trying to prevent people from knowing the truth ?" Why are you harping on something that's irrelevant? Have you ever heard of the concept of "more prejudicial than probative"? You've demonstrated it perfectly.
It appears so isn't enough. There are his statements, his supposed no visits to the mosque, the fact that he has never made a pilgrimage to Mecca and doesn't pray five times a day looking to the same place. Moreover, nobody has found links with any muslim organisation, terrorist or not. Data should be verified, not discussed.
He has Hussein as middle name because his father chose his, not him. So, the only thing it shows in that his father comes from the Middle East, period. And Ayatollah is a title, not a name. For the record, when you either convert or are born in Islam, there is a close list of names a person should adopt, in the same fashion as Catholics adopt saints' names or Biblical ones. So, a hypothetic John Ayatollah Smith should be a supposed Yahia or Hussein Smith, not a ridiculous middle name which means literarilly nothing.
So vaguely middle Eastern-sounding name = must be a Muslim? My first name's Hebrew (Anna), my middle name's French (Ghislaine) and my last name's Welsh (Williams). So what the hell am I?
Names are just labels so we don't have to call each other 'hey, you!'. They really don't matter.
Of course, if Obama had changed his middle name, then the loony fringe would equally attack him for trying to hide that he's a Muslim.

What kind of stupid argument is that? Obama didn't change his middle name to Hussein. His Muslim father gave it to him. His father left when Obama was two. My name is John (Hebrew - God is merciful). Does that mean I'm actually Jewish and trying to hide the fact?
If someone is trying to hide Obama's middle name, why do we all, including Jim Arsewipe Bremer, know what it is?
BTW, yes I caught your "clever" use of Osama instead of Obama when referring to the senator. Romney keeps making the same mistake on purpose, too.
You fail utterly.
1) People with a brain have known that his middle name is Hussein for, oh, about a year now, ever since the last big ruckus about it.
2) "Hussein" and "Ayatollah" do not have comparable meanings. One's a personal or family name, and one's a formal title.
3) No one is trying to hide his middle name, at least not any more than anyone does who dislikes their middle name. My dad's middle name is Milford, ffs. Of course he doesn't go around advertising this fact.
4) Obama is a Christian. I believe he's an Episcopalian. (I could be mistaken.)
5) YOU LOSE!
Nice job of "swift-boating" there, Jim. Smear tactics like this just sicken me -- it's nothing but lies, innuendoes, and more lies. But it's packaged shrewdly enough that probably at least half the people who hear it or read it will believe it, or at least believe some of it.
For example, the comparison with somebody changing his middle name implies that Obama chose his own, which isn't remotely true, but that meme will still stick to many people. It's disgustingly dishonest, and you know what? It'll probably work beautifully.

right, because since both my fist and last names are of french origin, that means i'm french, right? oh, and anyone named 'christopher' is....a heretic? decendent of jesus?
Obama is not a Muslim, you fucking Fundie morons. Also, all you're accusations that he is stink of racism. Not that you've never proven that you're all weren't, of course, but still...
Obama is also not related to Saddam Hussien. Wtf? o.O
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
