I believe that once all 50 states are legally marrying same sex couples, that will be the straw that breaks the camel's back, for intense persection of born again Christians. I believe even mentioning that homosexuality is a sin in the churches or witnessing will bring serious repercusions. Churches will probably be fined and/or loose tax exempt status, forced to not mention it in sermons, forced to marry same sex couples, and people possibly jailed for non-compliance of new hate speech laws. We will be forced to shut up or fined and/or jailed.

When this happens...not if, because it will happen, I will not be silent! I believe this could also trigger the rapture because all of America will be like Sodom and Gommorah.

If you want to be tax-exempt, you have to stay out of politics, and you have to provide the services the state requires of you.

Honey, the whole deal about same-sex marriage is that everyone ought to have the same human rights. No sane person will promote the restriction of human rights to further human rights. You have the right to spout whatever nonsense you want, which is free speech, but you don't have the right to not be contradicted, as others have free speech too. With rights comes responsibilities.

Most countries in Europe have same-sex marriage. No persecution of Christians has been reported anywhere.

Sin and the law are two different things. Tax exemption is to do with the law, so if you keep on running political campaigns, you will lose your status. Sin is to do with religion and sins don't have to be illegal. Hint: it's still legal to go to a synagogue and say eating pork's a sin.

So, you are saying there are not ten righteous people in the whole of America? Including you and your congregation, of course.

Well, that depends. If you are talking about legal/government motivated repercussions, no, because you have the right of free speech. However, if you go around preaching that homosexuals are evil and immoral and pererts etc. etc., I think it's quite likely that there would be social repercussions. For example, gay people would not want to spend time around you (which I'm sure would suit you both), and people who don't share your views may avoid/argue/dislike you. Also, while there is no problem with you expressing your views and witnessing on your own time, if you do so while you are representing a business or organization don't be surprised if you are reprimanded or fired. It is not persecution, it's because businesses and organizations often wish to present a certain image. If what I'm saying isn't getting through, think about this: a Christian bookstore hires a new employee. A week later, they receive complaints that the new employee is telling customers that the Christian god is a lie, and Allah is the one true god. Somehow I doubt that the bookstores owner would keep the employee. It's the same thing here, just reversed. And as long as your witnessing doesn't become harassment, that's perfectly legal as well.

Unlikely. Unless the church collectively did something illegal, such as littering chick tracts all over, they wouldn't be fined. And as much as I would like to see churches paying their fair share of taxes, I do think that would be a violation of the separation between church and state.

As dispicable as hate speech is, I unfortunately find myself endorsing your right to vocalize it. Free speech is free speech, no matter how vile it is. I will not, however, in any way, shape or form endorse the hate speech itself.
