I don't see anything wrong here.Everyone shares a different opinion and nobody can force them to change their views and morals. But here I see ''intelligent'' and ''liberal'' people are verbally oppressing the minorty and that...is wrong. Why not respect our opinions? So what if one third of Americans don't believe in evolution? It's their ideal, view and opinion.
(note that the "oppression" in question is complaining that 1/3 of Americans believe in creationism)

Opinions need not be respected. It's just like your babble says, "Love the sinner but hate the sin." Well, we respect the rights of people to have opinions, but we will ridicule your opinions as need be.
Do you'd respect my Socialist opinions? I guess not; then why would I respect your opinions? Btw, having a debate or a heated argument isn't "verbally oppressing the minority".
So what if one third of Americans don't believe in Algebra? It's their ideal, view and opinion.
Honey; science isn't based on opinions, views or morals. It's built on facts, experimentation, evidence and peer-reviewing. Every scientist would love to find fault with someone else's hypothesis, so they look really, REALLY hard for faults and problems.
Please, I beg of you, United Turks, don't oppress "intelligent" and "liberal" people by complaining about their complaints. Ouch! The dreadful disagreement! Aarrgh! The horrendous whining!
Stop! Just stop! OK! I admit it. Ignorance is sublime. Being stupid is special. There. I said it. Now please, no more whining and opining.
Of course you are entitled to your ideals, views and opinions.
However, if you claiming that your views are based on science when they are obviously not, you have gone beyond the realm of holding an opinion and entered the sphere of engaging in fraud.
Just as everyone should be free to proclaim their creationist opinions, I am free to point out how stupid creationists are. I repsect your right to hold an idiotic opinion, but I need have no respect for your idiotic opinion.

It would be fine if they kept it to themselves but they are not happy just to have their own private beliefs, a lot of them want to replace teaching science with mythology.
You can believe whatever you want. No one has to respect your beliefs themselves but your right to believe them. That said, the 1/3 of Americans believing creationism is their right. But nowhere does anyone have to respect creationism. Also it does not count as a science and thus is not taught as a science. Evolution is

Sure. But the facts say otherwise, and science rules, bitches.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the entire point of science, the entire methodology for learning about the world through observation, requires us to hold ideas up against reality to see where they break and fail to produce accurate predictions. Creationists refuse to do this, and even admit to it, so the mantle of "creation science" is very much a misnomer. The "science" tag, therefore, has little to do with these people performing real science according to the methods laid out by rational/skeptical empiricism, and everything to do with them adopting and then denigrating the term "science" for their own ends: to produce the illusion that their thinking is just as valid as real science.
I can't and won't respect bullshit. Sorry.
Your right to believe in a pile of utter bollocks is another matter. That I do respect - but I have the right to my beliefs as well and I believe that you are an idiot.
Why not respect our opinions?
Because they're totally stupid, unscientific, and you intend to force everyone else to believe them too.
The reason we can't respect your opinion regarding the validity of evolutionary models is that it's demonstrably false. You're doing the equivalent of insisting we respect your opinion that the sun orbits teh eart, or that the earth is flat, or that diseases are caused by the evil eye.
Yeah, here's your problem: there is no science whatsoever backing up creationism, which is why it is rejected by academia, or as you put it, "oppressed."
Filling your own house with shit is certainly your prerogative, but when your house explodes and showers your neighbors with that same shit, it's NO LONGER just your problem.
Teaching children that science is a lie just seems fundamentally wrong, if not abusive.
Basically, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else, it's your problem, even if it's still disgustingly immoral.
Why not respect our opinions?
Because you don't get to say "well, I don't buy it" about documented facts.
Confused?
