There are various reasons for Jason to want to present these straw men of science, knowledge and secularity.
The denial of knowledge about our origins that contradict his Young Earth Creationist creed where Earth is young and a sky daddy created by nobody must be equivalent to life emerging via abiogenesis and then evolving with genetics.
The denial of knowledge about how biology works, to pretend that it's impossible to determine when an embryo can suffer or have some level of consciousness, blur the boundary of when they can be considered to be a person, a being, rather than cells with the potential to grow into a being.
The denial that inequality is injustice thus bad, to justify patriarchy, women subjugation and abuse of women and children, justifying it by citing ancient savagery.
The denial that ethics are of human origin and can evolve, so that appeal to ancient false authorities and the misrepresentation of out of context citations can be used to justify evil.
The denial that evil exists, pointing at obvious problems with the existence of deities who are powerless or absent, likely just imaginary. Evil must be claimed to be part of "God's will" in Calvinism and apparenty in Jason's theology and own version of "God". Ironically, instead of picking verses about loving your neighbor and feeding the poor or sharing wealth, another is used and misrepresented to pretend that the government shouldn't tax, shouldn't use taxes to improve lives, because hey, it's God's will for them to be poor and suffer.
Of course all of that says more about Jason than about science and secularity...
