There are alot of reasons, but I just wanted to list the following for your review and consideration:

1. Jesus's bones were found.........no resurrection.
2. Jesus was married.
3. Jesus fathered a son.
4. Jesus and His disciples were homosexual.
5. Jesus never said He was God or the Son of God.
6. Jesus was the product of a raped young teen, hence no virgin birth.

Etc. etc. etc.

Now, please think on this; have you ever read anything so vile and hateful about Confucious or Buhdda, or Mohamed or Hare Krishna or whatever?

No, just about God the Son, our Lord and Master, Jesus. The One who died for my sins, who washed me clean from sin, and made me a child, a son of the Living God!

Such hate, lies, and mistruths. Would there be such vile feelings on a fairy tale or a "made-up" savior, I don't think so.

Jesus is real and just exactly who He says He is. Search your heart, who is He to you? He wants to be your Savior, who do you want Him to be?

Choose wisely, choose life eternal.

Yes, actually, I have. A lot of it seems to come from the mouths of Fundamentalist Christians, too. If you're going to use logic like that, does that mean they really belive those people are who they say they are, too? Would there be such vile feelings on a fairy tale or a "made-up" savior, I don't think so. Somebody else who misses the point. No surprise there. It isn't your god, or your holy zombie that people have a problem with. It's the zealotry and the insistance of a few that everybody in world has to live the same as they do. It's the fact that people have been brutally murdered because they didn't follow the teachings of some dusty old book. Jesus is real and just exactly who He says He is. If there was a historical Jesus, he died a couple of thousand years ago. End of story.

Yeah, and if some omnipotent deity were really concerned about it, it wouldn't happen. Thus, anyone who bitches about cruiticism of their favorite religious figure has about four choices as to said deity's opinion on the subject:
1. The criticism is correct 2. The criticism is incorrect, but the deity doesn't care 3. The criticism is incorrect and the deity cares, but the deity isn't omnipotent. 4. The deity doesn't exist So quit your whining, because apparently either 1. Jesus really does suck balls; 2. Jehovah doesn't care about the matter; 3. Jehovah can't do anything about it or 4. Jehovah doesn't exist and you're just pissing in the wind. Stupid, whiny fundies. They'll run around telling everyone else how they're going to hell and God hates them and all of their bullshit, but you dare bring up the possibility that maybe Jesus didn't exist or actually had a PENIS that he put into somebody else and it's whining and carrying on and threatening to strap explosives to their "wastes." I swear, the next Fundie I meet who tells me about going to hell is going to get kicked in the nuts just as hard as I can. Repeatedly. Until they pop out of their fucking ears.

Wrong. If they were found, it would only disprove a physical resurrection. Which many Christians think is a contradiction in terms. "Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God".

Why is that a problem? And if he wasn't married, how did he cope with his sex drive? That's a hard one, isn't it (sorry, couldn't resist).

Seems probable if 2 is true.

Most unlikely given the culture. Jews of that time would be reinforced in their homophobia by experience of Roman permissiveness. But if it were true, in what way does that invalidate anything Jesus supposedly said or did?

5. Jesus never said He was God or the Son of God.

Orthodox Christianity doesn't teach that Jesus "was God" either. As for "son of", the earliest traditions show him resisting any divine labelling, though this is changing by the time Matthew's gospel gets written. It's different in the Fourth Gospel, but you don't have to be especially liberal to see that book as historically unreliable. Which leaves you with: he was claimed to be the Son of God by his followers some time after his death. That much is certain; everything else is speculation.

6. Jesus was the product of a raped young teen, hence no virgin birth.

I don't buy the virgin birth for many reasons. The idea that Mary was raped keys in with John 8.41, thought by many to be a dig by Jesus' opponents at his pedigree ("WE are not bastards - like you"); and with the derogatory term "Son of Mary", which implies - no-one knows who the father was. This is very fishy. If Mary had a boyfriend who got her pregant accidentally there would still have been huge pressure on the father to stand by and make a decent woman of her. The fact that no father is even mentioned in the earliest Gospel (Mark's) opens up the possibility that whoever did impregnate Mary left her in the lurch. As would have happened if she'd been raped. It's not a pleasant speculation but it makes sense of what little data we have.

Seriously, if you go to the more extensive Fanfic sites, you’ll find bible stories, koran stories, celebrity stories where Buddha fucks Gandalf, and so on.

I’m sure there’s a little bias confirmation, here, you’re not going to go to THAT much effort to find the story about Mohammed being a racist time traveling science fiction author. But peopel write what they know. If the US schools teach comparitive religion it’s either hijacked by fundamentalists or it’s shut down by fundamentalists that cannot hijack it. So they don’t have the basis for a good yaoi about anyone except Jesus and the Little Drummer Boy claymation character.

Yes, these efforts are mild compared to some.

I find that fanfic tends to be written about people or characters that are ‘real’ to the author. You can almost chart the age of a writer by which Saturday Morning Cartoons they write about.
