I don't see how Obama can claim to be a Christian and believe in evolution at the same time. He joined the church just because someone thought that he should join it, not because he was saved and baptised. It was more like a political move to join the church.

Gee, could it be that he claims to be a Christian because he is one? Unlike you, who sees fit to pass judgment on him. And that he feels Genesis is a great read, but not to be taken literally.
Hey, my mother thinks the same thing. She thinks God caused evolution. Of course, she also thinks God created humans separate and that they didn't come from a common ancestor with apes, so I don't think I've quite gotten through to her yet...
Do you have a bit of a problem understand chronological order? As in, Obama was a member of his church long before he was running for the presidency?
Then again, since you are determined to blacken his character, why let an unimportant little thing like fact stand in the way?
Lots of Christians believe in evolution. Most of them probably believe that it was guided by god, but I'm willing to accept that rationalization. Especially when I see shit like this.
And Obama has been a Christian long before he threw his hat in the political ring.
The Pope and his Jesuit minions teach evolution, and they're chri....., oh thats right I forgot, theyr'e not "real" Xtians.
Obama has common sense. Like the other sane people who claim to be christian and accept that evolution is fact. The only ones who don't believe in evolution are crazy-ass morons like Huckabee...
Do these people really not get that the vast majority of people involved in their religion understand that evolution is sound science? It's the wack-a-doos who reject it.
I don't see how Obama can claim to be a Christian and believe in evolution at the same time.
- But millions do this. Intelligent people who are educated properly, Even the Pope! And he's a Christian - whatever you might think.
He joined the church just because someone thought that he should join it, not because he was saved and baptised.
- How do you know you are saved? There are only 144,000 seats in heaven. What makes you so special that you will get one. There are plenty more deserving than you that will not get one. It's The Fiery Lake for YOU! So much for your self-righteousness.
It was more like a political move to join the church.
- -same as it was for you.
It's amazing how you fundies know so much more about Obama than the rest of the country.
But, I would still like some references that show Obama himself saying why he jointed the church. Until then, he is a man who lives his life as he sees fit, regardless of the fundie's and asshats in his midst.
"I don't see how Obama can claim to be a Christian and believe in evolution at the same time"
Exactly. You don't understand. Because you are Bible literalist. Be prepared to continue to not be able to understand things as a consequence.
"It was more like a political move to join the church."
A political move that happened before he began a political career at all...but, yes...we can only hope that it was just a political move.
Obama the Closet Atheist, 2008!
"I don't see how Obama can claim to be a Christian and believe in evolution at the same time."
Because he actually attempts to use his brain.
"He joined the church just because someone thought that he should join it"
The same reason that probably 90% of Xians join.
A good many millions of Christians believe in evolution. You've led a very sheltered existence, if you think that all Christians agree with you. Nope, you're the oddball, a member of the Church of the Unschooled and Shoeless.
Confused?
