Our genes are similier to many animals but that does not prove we "evolved" from them. Seeing that there are no fossils of these creatures, they are now shifting to the genes thing. Which some are admitting that the similarities are only that.
And if Evolution exists then it would have to be continous. So what happen to the rest of the apes? Why have they not evolved? We use the apes to prove evolution, and yet they remain apes. Silly. No proof.

Silly. No brains.
Evolution.Does.Not.Fucking.Work.That.Way!
FFS, it's called a common ancestor. We did not evolve from apes as we know them today. We both evolved from a common ancestor. Why can't they get this simple fact thru their heads? They keep re-hashing the same tired old arguments that a 5 y/o could knock out of the sky with a slingshot.
"So what happen to the rest of the apes? Why have they not evolved?"
They did, dumbass. Look in the mirror.
"Our genes are similier to many animals but that does not prove we "evolved" from them."
Obviously. That would just be stupid. It does, however, show damned fine evidence of common ancestry.
"So what happen to the rest of the apes? Why have they not evolved?"
Perhaps they've seen creationists and thought better of it? I'm sure they'd rather not have to deal with people like you if they don't have to.
"We use the apes to prove evolution, and yet they remain apes."
Noooo. We don't use apes to "prove" evolution. Where the hell did you get such an absurd idea?
And we are larger than our parents generation why? Why has this been going on for generations? Yes good nutrition is part of the reason, but another part is that we are evolving. Same as why some people are born without wisdom teeth.
Apes have evolved, they evolved into apes. We have a common ancestor, we did not evolve from the current apes.
Here is a link to a simplified version of human evolution. Maybe if someone gives you the simplified version, it will help

Wow, sugarhitman, when you go for Teh Stoopid Prize, you don't mess around, do you?
We are not descended from apes. Apes and humans have a common ancestor, and we developed on different branches of that common ancestor's family tree.
Suppose there was a man named John White, and he has three daughters, Peony, Pansy, and Posey.
Peony marries John Black, Pansy marries John Green, and Posey marries John Brown, and each couple has two children.
Now, Peony's children are Blacks, Pansy's children are Greens, and Posey's children are Browns. They are all related through having a common ancestor (John White), but the Browns are not Blacks or Greens. The Browns do not have to cease to exist for the Blacks or Greens to continue living, they are simply different branches of the same family tree.
And so humans are related to apes. We have our own John White...an ancestor we and the apes have in common. We form one branch of the family tree descending from the common ancestor, they form other branches.
See? not so hard after all!
Evolution might be possible, but highley unlikely.
Its a man made idea, we were created by god over a period of times. We were not created 6000-10,000 years ago, but most likely billions of years ago by God. Evolution MAY have happen to a small percent(but higly unlikely). Species were created over a long period of times. There is a 3rd choice that never gets metitoned and its called old earth or progressive creationist(look it up).
I say forget about trying to educate these people. Just allow these fundies to breed amongst themselves on their side of the gene pool. (Just make sure to keep them on their side of the gene pool.)
Eventually they are going to branch off into their own subspecies, and there would no longer be any danger of them contaminating the Homo Sapiens Sapiens gene pool. This may happen sooner than expected if we factor in inbreeding, linebreeding and the tendency for fundies to disown those possessing even a hint of free thinking.
Once again, the yellow highlighting and redacting of facts is with you.
They did evolve.. to what they are NOW. What is that so hard for you to get your head around?
Has anybody else noticed that there is a comparison to be made between observing creationists and observing our simian ancestry? In the same way that we can look at the fossil record and say; "Wow. To think we came from such humble beginnings", so too can we individually look at creationists' arguments and think to ourselves; "Wow. I remember when I was that fucking stupid".
And I, for one, do remember... when I was six years old. I asked my mother; "Mother, how did people come to be upon the Earth?" And she replied, "People used to be monkeys*, child." To which I responded; "I don't remember being a monkey."
It took her the work of a minute to correct my error. But examples like Sugarhitman seem to me to be a younger version of myself, preserved forever in that instant of gormless childhood stupidity. They exist only for me to realise just how far i've come, while they remain forever with the mindset of a six year old child.
*Alright, so she should have said apes, not monkeys. The woman was a social worker, not a zoologist.
Honestly, do this fundies read anything different to their church's newsletter?. Fossils have been found and that's the main reason why evolution has been accepted. In fact, fossil was a word coined after they were found in the peak of the debate of the theory of evolution. And genes IT'S ANOTHER PROOF.
I like the "Its a man made idea" dismissal of evolution. What fucking idea isn't man-made?
Also septic sceptic, you've been on fire recently.
"So what happen to the rest of the apes? Why have they not evolved?"
They evolved into fudies, who are not evolved enough to understand science.
I believe one of the problems of catalouging our ancestry is that elvolving humans and elvolving apes (which we are too, just not the other apes) is that on our way up from a rodent like creature (where all apes began ) it's hard to tell which is on the way to gorilla, chimp, neanderthal (the extinct closer cousin) and human. While they have a lot of fossils we haven't got them all.
Fundies are merely the expression of a modern phase of evolution. Not recognizing the need for their native intelligence, they opted to stop using it. In its place are knee-jerk reactions (fight or flight) and the extreme gullibility and superstition that makes them excellent hive-creatures.
I fervently wish that their next evolutionary step will be the loss of the power of speech.
Because different apes serve different purposes. We are an ape that began to use tools rather than our own strength. We suddenly switched from herbivores with slight insectivore traits to true omnivores actively seeking out meat. This encouraged us to gain abilities such as lateral thinking that you need to outsmart other animals. And this gave us better tools to kill other animals with allowing us to take on big game.
Other apes did not go down this route of evolution. Maybe chimpanzees are in this route of evolution but it will be a while before we see their end results.
Genes prove similarities between organisms by looking at the actual code within them.
Ah, the old "If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" bit.
They really don't see how flawed this line of thinking is, do they?
As tailless primates, we are, rather than descended from, great apes, along with chimps, gorillas, and orangutans. Similar genes does not mean descended from- it means a common ancestor. All humans are 99.9% identical, it's even highr within a family. My cousin and I would have more shared genetic material than two strangers, because our ancestry comes together at our grandparents.
I liked the idea of fundies breeding on their own side of the gene pool. In some states, I think they already do. When a new species forms, unable to use intelligent thought, we'll need a new taxonomy for it. Homo Sapiens means "wise man." How about H. Stupidensis ?
Where did the apes go? Same place the Smiths did.
Ya see.. my family, from WAY WAY back were named Smith. They passed that name down in the male line. However, the women-folk took the names of their spouse and his family. So we have some Lancasters that were once Smiths, we have some McWhorters that were once Smiths, we have some Lemasters that were once Smiths.. some Sheets, Lurtys, Borlands, and some Millers. Guess what.. there are STILL some Smiths around too. Now.. how do you think that happened? How is it that if the Smiths evolved into all these other beings.. they (The Smiths) still exist?
It's magic it is.
When people ask "why haven't the apes evolved" you can tell that they're looking at evolution through eyes heavily clouded by religion. They have been told their entire lives that humans are special, and elevated to a place above all other animals. When you look at evolution this way, you would see humans as the pinnacle, and everything else as just stages on the way to humanity. Fundies see evolution as the old "ladder" misconception, with humans on the top and single-celled organisms on the bottom. It seems to be very hard for the fundies to grasp that evolution is more a tree than a ladder.
Ah, the old "If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" bit.
They really don't see how flawed this line of thinking is, do they?
----------------------------------------------------------
you know what? I think it happened something like this.
Darwin one day come up with this lunacris idea we evolved from monkeys..but yrs later scientists realised there were stills monkeys & knew sceptics would question that... so their pathetic rebuttal was.. NO!! We evolved from a different species of MON-KEY!!!...WOOhoo!!!!! excuse me while I touch myself*
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
