Ph.D, eh? In some irrelevant discipline, from a Fundie diploma mill...
Let me guess... Ornamental Rhetoric, from Rev. Elation's Theologic College.
The University of Reality is proud to present Don Batter with this honorary degree.

Stultior stulto fuisti, qui tabellis crederes!
Nihil curo de ista tua stulta superstitione.

Sorry I just couldnt resist imitating private eye with this one.
The question then is, how do they know that the Bible reveals an accurate account of world history?
Surely not by looking at the evidence. So what is it then?
Don, show the world how wrong we are in our interpretation of the data. We promise you fame, fortune, rock-star status, and a trip to Stockholm. Until then, quit devaluing the degree the rest of us have worked hard to earn.
Don Batten later went on to explain why this was so. But due to an unprecedented forest fire that swept across the internet, the testemony was lost to pages of history.
Dr Batten, while available for comment, stated that he was so traumatised by the whole ordeal, that he would not be able to speak till hell froze over.
This reporter scoffs.

"Mr. Batten received his Ph.D in horticulture from a school of agriculture are the University of New South Wales in Australia. Not exactly the bastion of liberal thinking. Most colleges of agriculture in the U.S. and abroad are replete with people like this."
To nitpick he actually received his Ph.D from the University of Sydney. We can't have him tarnishing the reputation of the university I attend (UNSW).

However when when a bronze age creation myth contradicts observable reality, it is observable reality that is at fault.
If reality disagrees with the bible, reality must be wrong.
If scientific data has to conform to the bible anyway, why do you bother collecting it in the first place? If it matches, you learn nothing, if it doesn't match, you chuck it away. And still learn nothing.
@themadness:
You are right, he did receive his Ph.D from U of Sidney, BUT he was a horticulture researcher at the Tropical Fruit Research station at the U of New South Wales from 1976-1994. So, your university didn't give him a degree, but they DID have him on their payroll for 18 years in the college of agriculture. My beef is NOT with the universities themselves, but rather, with the colleges of agriculture that tend to produce students with the least critical thinking skills, who are only too happy to tow the line for big agriculture, without questioning the consequences for human safety, justice, or equality. Many, such as one that I received my Ph.D from, are havens for absolutely gobsmackingly moronic fundamentalist xtian anti-critical thinkers I have ever seen. I mean, people asking others to bow their heads and pray before lunchtime meetings at a public university! People having xtian taglines on their PUBLICLY-funded email accounts. Yet, those who come out as atheist would be scorned by these morons. And yes, these Ph.D holders from excellent public universities--albeit their ag. colleges--actually hold many of the same views as the moronic racist anti-Obama crowds at McCain rallies. I actually had another Ph.D student proclaim to me that Obama was a terrorist. Think much???? It is mind-boggling.
Oh c'mon, that's cheating. That's the equivalent of taking your ball and going home in the second inning, saying "Haha, I won!"
Y'see, scienterrific people don't declare an experiment a success before they actually do the experiment. You and your PhD-in-quotes apparently know nothing at all about science. Or data. Or interpretation. The result is that you know nothing at all about truth, since "because-the-bible-sez-so" is no more reliable than "because-I-say-so, so there".
Confused?
