Muslims countries aren’t as interested in ID because they don’t need to deal with nearly as much atheist scum evolutionists with their evolving mind tricks. All our liberties are allowing the atheists here to destroy our society. George H.W. Bush was intelligent and thoughtful enough to say that atheists shouldn’t really be citizens. Maybe his son will have the intelligence to make a similar point, maybe in his next state of the union adress outlaw evolution. He wouldn’t need to say much, simply something like “every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic,” and then explain why. The muslim countries know how to deal with these people(one of the rare things they do right). Why can’t we follow their lead?

George H.W. Bush was intelligent and thoughtful enough to say that atheists shouldn’t really be citizens.
Considering the fact that Bush senior is far saner and smarter than his son, I seriously doubt he's ever said anything of the kind.
Like our republic doesn't have enough "enemies" right now.
You might try reading the Constitution. It's an interesting document.
To SaneChick
"The following exchange took place at the Chicago airport between Robert I. Sherman of American Atheist Press and George Bush Sr., on August 27, 1988. Sherman is a fully accredited reporter, and was present by invitation as a member of the press corps. The Republican presidential nominee was there to announce federal disaster relief for Illinois. The discussion turned to the presidential primary:
RS (Rob Sherman): "What will you do to win the votes of Americans who are atheists?"
GB (George Bush): "I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in God is important to me."
RS: "Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?"
GB: "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."
RS: "Do you support as a sound constitutional principle the separation of state and church?"
GB: "Yes, I support the separation of church and state. I'm just not very high on atheists."
UPI reported on May 8, 1989, that various atheist organizations were still angry over the remarks. "
Sane chick: Actually, he did. Only once, and it wasn't a declarative, but he expressed doubts about Atheists being citizens when he was running.
On the subject of H. W.'s claim regarding athiests: Only one reporter has claimed to have heard it, and he didn't get it on tape, so it may well be false. Though I wouldn't put it beyond possible.
Chuch, no.
"Muslims countries aren’t as interested in ID because they don’t need to deal with nearly as much atheist scum evolutionists with their evolving mind tricks."
I am an atheist, and I understand and accept the ToE, however, I am not scum.
If your religion is so wonderful and true, why is it that you are so concerned about being tricked? Can't your theology stand up on it's own?
"All our liberties are allowing the atheists here to destroy our society."
No, some of our liberties are allowing atheists to point out the stupidities in religions.
"George H.W. Bush was intelligent and thoughtful enough to say that atheists shouldn’t really be citizens."
No, that was neither an intelligent nor a thoughtful thing to say. It was assoholic and degrading, and such a idea could not be implimented as it would be patently unconstitutional.
"Maybe his son will have the intelligence to make a similar point,"
Waiting on GWB to have intelligence is a pointless exercise.
"maybe in his next state of the union adress outlaw evolution."
Yeah? Don't bet on it. His ass, and the asses of his cronies, would be in a never-get-a-Republican-elected-again sling.
"He wouldn’t need to say much,"
It's always best when George doesn't say much.
"simply something like 'every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic,' and then explain why."
Yeah, he'd have to do some good, fast explaining. Then, as he was hauled away to his own Nurenburg-style trial, he could shout "praise the Lord" and "thank you , Jesus."
"The muslim countries know how to deal with these people(one of the rare things they do right)."
So, one of the few things you like about the Muslims is that some Islamic governments kill desenters? Oh, the Christian love, it just warms my cold, cold atheist heart.
"Why can’t we follow their lead?"
Because we live in a pluralistic society in a "free" country.
That bird just jumped off the cliff. Why can't you follow his/her lead?
On the subject of H. W.'s claim regarding athiests: Only one reporter has claimed to have heard it, and he didn't get it on tape, so it may well be false. Though I wouldn't put it beyond possible.
Chuch, no. <<<NtC
Actually, Nappy, if you watch the film "Outfoxed" (about Rupert Murdoch's rise to infamy), the taped interview is shown.
That statement alone should have disqualified King George the First from ever obtaining the presidency, as the statement violates the constitution, which he swore to uphold.
George H.W. Bush was intelligent and thoughtful enough to say that atheists shouldn’t really be citizens. Maybe his son will have the intelligence to make a similar point I'd say that statement is almost exactly on George Bush's intellectual level, so yeah, it's possible. He wouldn’t need to say much, simply something like “every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic,” Yeah, you know you have a good position when you quote Star Wars to support it.
The muslim countries know how to deal with these people(one of the rare things they do right). Why can’t we follow their lead?" image
HA HA
This is just astonishing. Bush can't outlaw something simply by saying it's illegal in the State of the Union speech, you know. Bush, in fact, can't outlaw anything. Basic American Government 101: The President is the head of the executive branch of the government, and as such is responsible for carrying out the laws formed by the Legislative Branch. You know, Congress. Which, thank all the powers that be, is now in Democratic control.
The president can't outlaw things without putting a bill through Congress. He's President W. Bush, not King George II.
Good luck getting a bill banning belief in Evolution through a Democratic Congress. You'd need a really good reason, and there isn't one.
<< The president can't outlaw things without putting a bill through Congress. He's President W. Bush, not King George II. >>
Niali: Oh, but not for lack of trying. He has tacked on "signing statements" to a lot of the bills he has passed -- declaring, in effect, that he considers the presidency to not be bound by them. A bill specifically outlawing military torture was one of those, for example.
~David D.G.
If he outlaws evolution, does that mean that only outlaws will evolve?!? Furthermore, will he also attempt to make the law retroactive and thus causing everyone to become an outlaw? If everyone is then an outlaw, will they then be forced to evolve? So is this not actually a clever ploy to solidify the standing of evolution so that is becomes a defacto law instead of just a theory?
Oh, it hurt my brain to try and add reason or "logic" to this statement.
Considering the fact that Bush senior is far saner and smarter than his son, I seriously doubt he's ever said anything of the kind.
Unfortunately he did.
And Charles W is an ass.
...with their evolving mind tricks.
These are not the transitional fossils you are looking for. *handwave*
Also, the moment you try and violate the First Amendment, the Treaty of Tripoli (bitch!), AND basic scientific knowledge, is the moment Bush recalls troops from Iraq to deal with the Second American Civil War, only to have them rebel the moment they're home. Fifty Confederate Dollars say so.
...though after typing this I have to wonder if this isn't a Poe of great skill. Either that or this fundie is into Star Wars, somehow. "Jedi/evolutionist mind tricks"? "Every single Jedi/evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic"?
Either that or this fundie is into Star Wars, somehow.
I post on the starwars.com message boards. You'd be amazed at how many Star Wars fans are fundies. What's probably not so amazing is that they often take dark side screen names.
"George H.W. Bush was intelligent and thoughtful enough to say that atheists shouldn’t really be citizens." I'd comment but I'm not really a citizen, in fact I shouldn't really be on a computer, or the internet, Our Benefactors doesn't allow it...I'd better go...oh God! Ahh, the Overwatch! I'm sorry! Ow! Not the face! Not the face!
*cuts to dead radio silence*
Are we talking evolutionists, or just people who don't accept the literal truth of the bible being made enemies of the republic?
Either way, lucky your military is so huge, you'll need it to face that many enemies! :)
Well, I guess now that Revenge of the Bush is out, we should get to work on filming The Creationists Strikes Back and The Return of the Atheist. Look out for the all new atheist evolving mind trick!
Instead of the Force, we could use Science, since it would be equally mysterious to creationists. Of course, with all the qualified scientists on our side, this would be like cakewalk. Victory will be ours.
hmmmmmm well he doesnt know that the founder of modern turkey ,Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, was an atheistic alcoholic himself............plus that some muslim countries do embryonal experiments (the emirates for example)........and we arent as strict as fundies bout the "creationism"
What I've learned from this:
A) Evolution is the Force, and Darwinists are Jedi.
B) Evolution is already outlawed, because this quote indicates we aren't going anywhere as a species.
I'm not even going to TOUCH the stupid idea of what was stated, but I will say this.. Have you not seen President Bush? To think he is even slightly intelligent means you obviously haven't. America will be far better off without him as president, and *gasp* with a black or female president, I know what you're thinking.. What is this world coming to?! And come on, you only want to follow the Muslims so you can execute legally.
This guy is actually a brilliant troll.
He's got the awful speling errors ("adress"), the praising bigoted comments that no Christian agrees with (Atheists shouldnt really be citizens) etc.
And if the "Every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic" didn't tip you off to this guy's satire and wit, I mean, c'mon!
The guy's a good troll.
'CharlesW has a skull full of a creamy brown substance that has the consistency of oozing gravy and the pungent aroma of an overflowing septic tank. '
Fuckin' A!!! Well said. CharlesW ignores the FACT that there is a U.S. Constitution, but being a fundy nutjob, he would probably like to get rid of it & replace it with so-called 'Biblical(?)' law.
“every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic,”
Star Wars much? Execute order 66.
Oh shit. Looks like I'm going to have to go into exile on the remote swampworld of Dagoba.
George H.W. Bush never said such a thing, and his son is nothing but an incompetant hypocrite who hides behind a Bible when painted into a corner.
Muslims AND true christians (which you are certainly not) know that ID is a wolf in sheeps clothing created by the desperate fundamentalist - who is the true enemy of christianity.
much atheist scum evolutionists with their evolving mind tricks.
“every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic,”
Troll, there is no way fudies would quote fron Star Wars.
How the fuck do you OUTLAW EVOLUTION? Isn't it a natural process that just sort of happens outside the laws of mankind?
"Sir, we've just got word that a species of frog in the South has adapted in recent years to be more resilient against certain diseases!"
"LAUNCH MISSILES! I won't have anyone evolving on my watch!"
Yes, my mind tricks are evolving! In your face, Republic! Now, go fetch my light saber, Chui. It's in the glows compartment.
I've studied Islam quite a bit, and I've found that a good bit believe in theistic evolution. They aren't as interested in ID because they at least try to make their religion scientifically acceptable, without trying to redefine science like christians do.
I've encountered Muslim creationists every bit as wacky as their western counterparts, and I think they're occasionally featured here on FSTDT. (It's what people who call FSTDT an anti-Christian site miss - not only are a lot of us actually Christians, we don't discriminate. I've even seen an ultra-militant atheist quoted here.) I think the majority of Muslims are theistic evolutionists, just like the majority of Christians and Jews.
How do you outlaw a natural process, anyway?
Does this make FSTDT.com a wretched hive of atheist scum and villany?
Incidentally, do I get to be a theist scum evolutionist? 'Cause I really want to wield some of those evolving mind tricks...
@ Lilith: Yeah, apparently FSTDT.com is a hive of communist facists and liberals.
@ Plargf: Ah, that picture. Someone's already posted it on the 'Oh no3z w3'z b3in opr3ss0rz by t3h liberalz!' quote. Anywho, if you've got the image uploaded to Photobucket or something similar, just type in image . This should work, and if it doesn't, blame it on the Liberal party.
Fundie: Hey want some bibles?
Atheist: You do not want to give me a bible...
Fundie: I do not want to give you a bible...
Atheist: You will go home and read a book on evolution...
Fundie: I will go home and read a book on evolution...
*Fundie goes home and reads Lamarck*
You atheists can never win can you, poor things :( Oh well, it's all just balance on the tight rope of life.
"Every evolutionist is now an enemy of the Republic," sounds like, "Every Jedi is now an enemy of the Republic."
And atheist mind tricks? Yep, we're officially Jedi.
Where can I get my lightsaber?
Don't give me any of that nonsense. There is no way in which atheists and evolution will negatively affect anything for you. And when people with the knowledge of evolution produce the medication that keeps you from dying with the flu, you won't even know that, and will give the credit to god/Jesus instead of to the "evolutionists" who did all the heavy lifting, you ungrateful wretch.
Did Papa Bush miss the part in the Constitution about freedom of religion?
His son's lack of intelligence is only matched with that of the Orange Clown.
You can't outlaw a natural process, you silly bint.

Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
