And CGI Fake-Shemping! Thank you Moose! Hopefully they'll tweak the tech even more to overcome the "Uncanny Valley" factor. That said; Seeing both Peter Cushing and 19/20-Year old Carrie Fisher brought back to life again is really cool and I personally have no probs with CGI Necromancy (as long as it isn't tasteless like Martin Luther King Jr. as a Klansman or something....). It may even replace most of the complex movie make-up!
Imagine perfecting the tech so that it's SUPER-REAL! Imagine casting Mickey Rourke and making his face normal and handsome again. Imagine the "flashback scenes" in a story....Val Kilmer is his present-day chunky self and suddenly we see Val when he was young, slim, toned and HAWT! Well; I don't know if those guys will make big movies again but still....
....I appreciate both practical effects and CGI equally and I think it works best when it's combined....and the CGI person is competent.
