Who was alive 400 years ago to confirm this so-called "global warming"? The earth is getting a little warmer, at least in the last 50 to 100 years or so, since we have data supporting it. But to project what we see here & now back 400 years or even 50 billion, is asinine. Anyone who thinks we, as humans, are big enough to affect this God given Earth in a permanent way, has a blown up ego.

Right. And the hole in the ozone layer was caused by Satan.

You know, you're right. We couldn't effect the world at all, especially if just one county released it's entire nuclear arsenal on the world. I mean really, what's the worst that can happen? It's not like the entire world would become unlivable for a long period of time and more or less kill off 90% of the world's animal population, causing a permanent change in the world's future evolutionary path. Oh, but don't worry. If you just go stick your head in the sand these lies can't harm you at all!
Oh and if it makes you feel better, I'm sure Humans won't invent much more destructive tools in the future which certainly won't ever be able to make life of any kind impossible to exist on Earth forever more. It's not like weapons of mass destruction just came about in the last 100 years and improvements to technology show no signs of no longer increasing at great rates...Oh wait.
Well, I certainly hope they don't extrapolate back 50 billion years, or we might have to redefine the universe... (again)
I as a single human do not have the power to truly incur a permanent or even long lasting effect on the Earth. Humanity on the other hand is quite capable seeing as there are 6 billion of us and we have an evolutionary advantage over the trillions of ants swarming over the earth allowing us to want more than we need.
On a side note, I'm personally cautiously optimistic about global climate change rather than and fundamentalist alarmist and I have to admit that when this new temperature study came out and they claimed that the temperature is the highest it's been in 400 years "and possibly thousands of years" the report reeked of left wing slant. I wish that both sides of the issue would just look at it skeptically and cautiously at the same time . But then again, there wouldn't be sides in that situation. C'est la vie...
Global warming isn't really a matter of "We're going to destroy the Earth" as "We're going to horribly fuck our species, and all species on Earth, up the ass". The Earth is technically going to survive Global Warming, we won't.

Also, who was alive 60 years ago to confirm this so-called "Holocaust"? Oh sure, you have some Jews, but how can you trust them--were you there?

This is the same retarded argument that people made when they wanted to dismiss the possibility of human-caused extinction. I genuinely hope that this scum doesn't vote.

Anyone who thinks we, as humans, cannot possibly affect the Earth is dangerously foolish. Personally, I think the effect we've had so far is overstated ... but if it's all the same to you, I'd prefer not to find out the hard way that I'm wrong.
@Napoleon. 55 billion tons p/a and climbing. (and that's just CO2, and possibly discounting deforestation)
The biomass of all life on Earth, including all trees and oceans full of pond life and krill and prokaryotes enriching the soil is only 2 trillion tons.
If we don't desist, in the next 25 years alone, we're going to dig up and burn hydrocarbons releasing more carbon dioxide than there is life on Earth.
Takes a lot to fuck up a planet, but there's a lot of fuck-ups trying their darnedest!
Yah, I'm sure that everything on earth is exactly the same as it was millions of years ago. No global ice age, no meteors, no continental drift and church every sunday. Since you can't imagine the scope of millions of years in time, doesn't mean that they didnt exist, or that things have always been exactly the same. God says that he can effect the earth, is that the blown-up ego you were talking about?
I vote we bury him in a superfund site. I have one handy. It won't be habitable for the forseeable future, but since humans can't affect the Earth in a permanent way, he won't mind raising his kids there. BTW, it's also in a hurricane evac zone.
Thanks to asshats like this, the Superfund is bankrupt, and is no longer cleaning anything up.

You've gotta admire humanity's tenacity.
Bloody idiot. Just because you don't think we can fuck the world up doesn't mean the rest of us should have to suffer through your ignorance. Here's a little pointer, moron: The earliest thermometer dates back to 1638. That's more than your petty little requisite 400 years. We have more than a few observable examples in our own time of the effect we've had. The trend is established, the science is there, and "We had a cold winter" doesn't mean global warming isn't happening. It's winter, you bleeding idiots. It's colder than summer by perception, but the winters themselves -are- averaging warmer temperatures, the summers likewise, and it's now to the point where it has actually caused extinctions science has observed first hand. Predictions are, that by 2050, more than half of Europe's amphibians will be extinct. By then, biodiversity will begin to collapse, and the effect on the biosphere will be felt for millennia to come.
But it's okay, we'll all be Raptured before we -really- fuck the planet up. Right? Right?
Well, in the next 25-30 years, you'll get to see whether you're right or not.
Maybe you'll even live long enough to try to find a scapegoat to blame.
Four centuries ago we were in what they call the "little ice age". We have many, many written records from then. We even have pictures that were painted at that time, showing skaters on the frozen river Thames, which doesn't freeze any more.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
