I had a really weird day yesterday. I was going to lunch and I saw a big military plane fly by. I work near an airport but in the 2 1/2 years of working here, I have never seen a big cargo military plan fly over. On my way back to work from lunch (not an hour later) I saw ANOTHER one. I thought "what is going on???" thinking maybe they heard something. Then when I was getting out of my car I thought "I need to say goodbye to my friends" like I was never going to come back. My friend at work are Christians so I really don't think I was thinking Rapture type of thing. THEN about 2 hours later, I had the same thought. AND THEN I saw another cargo military plane fly by. I was really unnerved. Well, of course the rapture didn't happen. I am not sure what it was though.

We had a Chinook, a Lightning and a Hercules circling right overhead for half an hour here, and we're nowhere near an airport. Turns out it was the funeral of some poor kid who'd been killed in Afghanistan and they were just waiting for the right moment to fly past. Stop wishing for death. It'll come soon enough.
This pretty much describes most days for you, doesn't it, JenGC?
Luck for you, my sleazy cousin Earl isn't around...
"I had a really weird day yesterday. ... I saw a big military plane fly by. I work near an airport"
THAT IS SO FUCKING WEIRD.
"On my way back to work ... I saw ANOTHER one."
"AND THEN I saw another cargo military plane fly by"
Whoa! The military keeps those things in groups?
"I am not sure what it was though."
It was probably 3 military transport planes carrying some large, sensitive equipment / stuff somewhere. All at once. They do that, you know.

During a recent lunch hour While JenGC was daydreaming about the Rapture - again - I stole her cheese and onion sub.
It was OK, they're a bit stingy on the salad, but I've had much worse.
JenGC was unavailable for comment about the theft. She's still daydreaming.
Ummm.... aren't there pretty much military branches near all the major airports in the US so they can share runways? So... Basically, Jen was so busy looking at the clouds hoping god would pop out of them to notice there have probably been cargo planes for years over head?
I wonder what'd she think living here - on the "air highway" from the airport to the main army target practice/ "wildlife" refuge. It is fun to see the heavily loaded helis overhead, boy do they thunder!
I am not sure what it was though.
You saw a bunch of military cargo planes, huh?
Well, now this is just a guess, nothing authoritative or anything, but since the military tend to have extremely large materiel requirements even in peacetime, and your country is currently engaged in at least two very large overseas campaigns, stay with me here, perhaps, just possibly, the military was moving some cargo?
I have never seen a big cargo military plan fly over.
Well, yeah. Just a thought, but when "heck of a job" Brownie was in charge of the Katrina response, they probably stood pat. But now that it's an election year and Chertoff doesn't want to screw up and give the Democrats ammunition, they're off to help the Gustav recovery.
ZOMG! I live near Dobbins and one time I was picking up paper at the paper supplier across the street from the base and a C-130 flew over my car. It cast like this really huge shadow and I thought, "holy shit! That's a big plane about to land on my car!" Then I realized I was sitting in traffic right next to the runway. You think that means it's the end times?
Well, of course the rapture didn't happen.
But that won't stop me from seeing perfectly normal things tomorrow as the sign of an imminent Rapture, too.
Funny. A while back my dad was washing the car out front when a UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) few overhead escorted by an AH-1 Cobra.
A few weeks ago I was cooking and thinking about my girlfriend when four CH-47 Chinooks buzzed over my neighborhood not 200 feet off the ground.
Now what do you think that was all about? Myself, I think they were just heading to Tinker Air Force Base.
Now stop turning mole hills into mountains, it's wartime and you're bound to see military aircraft overhead once in a while. Doesn't mean the Apocalypse is coming.
The Rapture won't be announced by trumpets.
Rather we will be notified by Herve Villechaize
(Boss..de plane, de plane!)
Sometimes when you're near an airport and/or military base you'll see planes. Scary, huh? I'd be seriously pissed if the biggest event of your life (the Rapture) was carried out with a military cargo plane.
we live near a base and when the mortar fire starts one always asks "Is that thunder or Fort Bragg?"
@Mister Spak and Carbonated Margarine: LOL!
"Well, of course the rapture didn't happen."
Congratulations, you've just recognized that strange events don't necessarily mean that you're living in the End Times!

I would love to creep up behind this person and blow a trumpet!
Then take a pic of them shitting themself!
Living on edge for Jebus!
I once saw a B2 Spirit fly over my house. Strange how my first thought wasn't that it was on it's way to bomb Ohio.
FYI - My first thought was, "That is so frickin' cool!"
