The Church has a proven history of using faith to triumph over science. When Christians switched to battling with the weapon of science, they began suffering one defeat after another. Evolutionists have good reason to crow about their victories in public schools and in institutes of higher learning. Over the years, they have mopped the floor up with creationists, having won virtually every major contest. With creation science having such a dismal record, I think it's time to look for a better strategy

That would be because they're out of ammo.
"Using faith to triumph over science"? What, you mean the Dark Ages and that whole "Here's your hemlock, drink up!" thing? Yeah, I don't think that's something to be proud of.
"I think it's time to look for a better strategy"
Yeah, like accept reality and drop the stupid idea of creationism.
Which victories "over science"?, hunger, wars, analphabetism and death because they didn't want to listen to the experts?
How you're able to use this computer using faith, to use antibiotics or cars with faith, is something that you will not bother to explain, won't you?
Hey, BigChickenDinner , you forgot to mark your post as sarcastic.
Most of us here get it but we do have fundies in lurking here too, and they're less than bright.
They may think you're serious.
"Have you ever heard of Kent Hovind, Ken Ham, Ray Comfort, or Michael Behe. They can wipe the floor with any darwinist any day of the week. "
Kent Hovind is a fraud, even not considering his tax fraud crimes. The only people he debates are his own strawmen - handpicked "professors" who are scripted to lose the "debate."
Ken Ham is just as bad.
Ray Comfort? Don't even mention Ray Comfort. I TROUNCED Ray Comfort in an e-mail exchange. It was posted here in FSTDT.
And Michael Behe has admitted defeat after defeat.
Sorry Little Chicken... you're just plain wrong.
Here's a better strategy, Todd:
Shun all structures that have glass windows, and all books that have words in them.
You cretinists failed with the weapon of science because, unlike your god's bloody club, the weapon of science requires the ammunition of good evidence.
"With creation science having such a dismal record, I think it's time to look for a better strategy"
I think it's time to look for better science, i.e. real science.
I agree. Let us meet in battle. I will use the weapons of science, and you can use a pointy stick.
All right, I'll even allow you a burning sword.
Woah... A fundie who admits creation "science" isn't a credible theory? A fundie who admits that Christians have to rely on faith most of all, and they fail when they drag science into it?
RUN AND HIDE, THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US!!!
Over the years, they have mopped the floor up with creationists, having won virtually every major contest. ...creation science having such a dismal record
You heard it here first folks.
Just to good for me not to comment...
"The Church has a proven history of using faith to triumph over science."
Yes, they did. Hence, the origin of my user name.
(Yeah, yeah yeah, I know, I know...but come on, this is kinda juicy)
Yeah, didn't ol' Kent kinda get sent up the river for nonpayment on his taxes?
And Behe believes in common descent. That leaves Ray Comfort, who is...special. I'm sure he does try hard, though, and that's what counts.
Given that the Church used to burn, hang, exile, torture, excommunicate or murder anyone with a different point of view,, it's pretty easy to see why it's track record against science is so good.
From someone who was once devoutly Christian (Catholic is Christian, you fundie dumbasses), there's a reason for this -- faith has run out of room and is being squeezed into tighter and tighter holes. Your sort of faith is no longer needed, and its results can be seen in the most backwards and repressive countries in the world.
Well, torture and execution of 'heretics' did allow the Church a few wins, but eventually even they realised it was a futile battle and accepted radical notions like the earth not being flat.
I hope young Todd is not suggesting a return to the good old days of imprisonment, torture, and death as a way to win. It's not like others haven't suggested execution of non-believers on various sites.
As for creationists giving up and admitting defeat, it's a nice idea. I do always feel a tad guilty whenever I engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponant :-)
"The Church has a proven history of using faith to triumph over science."
Yeah, specifically, faith like this...

Yes, but, for the convenience of the situation, type it in a computer, instead of shouting in a pulpit. You know, you make your stupidity more accesible.
Using faith to triumph over science? Do you mean things like the Crusades, Auto-da-fé's and the Spanish Inquisition? The Crusades failed dismally; as they brought back the Arab idea of Universities and higher learning, which have been spreading science ever since.
Why this constant focus on evolution? What about all the Gravitationists, who crow about their victories over Intelligent Falling in public schools and in institutes of higher learning. Why don't they ever get a mention?
Confused?
