This is probably how that poll went:
Q: Have you ever had homosexual thoughts?
A: Yeah, maybe once or twice.
Q: But you're straight now?
A: Yup.
Fine, then. You won't mind backing that up with science, statistics and other verifiable data, as opposed to the collective wishful thinking of christendom?
I excitedly await your citations.
It is estimated, indeed. But only by you and your ilk. If you want to make a valid argument, you need to provide evidence, not estimations made by your preacher and his imaginary friend.
Yeah, just look how well conversion therapy worked for John Paulk. Oh wait, bad example. Okay, look at Gabriel Arana. Uhm, on second thought, don't look at Gabriel Arana. Well what about Michael Bussee and Gary Cooper...er, never mind.
Okay, I'm kind of at a loss right now, but you can bet I'll come back with lots and lots of conversion therapy success stories soon. After all, those estimates can't be wrong, can they?
Oh look, it's our good friend passive voice! You know, it's sentences like this that give that innocent grammatical tool such a bad reputation.
Who estimated, Patrick? Who?
Yeah, and it is estimated that there are millions of tiny unicorns living in the Amazon and that most Norwegians are left-handed.
See, I can make stuff up, too.

Etc, etc, etc... maybe if I say it in enough different languages it'll get into your thick fundie skull.
If so, why are you so worried?. If you think that homosexuality can be reversed, people wouldn't be discussing gay rights right now. Why?, well, who wants to endure a lifetime of persecution and ignorance, for something that affects NOBODY, if they can change that?, why not having kids in a natural way with the person they love, instead of adopting or with surrogate mothers or artificial insemmination?. Guess what, because it's not that simple.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
