[From an an article on MSNBC.com about the Christian Right increasing it's attacks on Obama in the final days before the election.]
But among the strongest pieces this year is Focus on the Family Action's letter which has been posted on the group's Web site and making the e-mail rounds. Signed by "A Christian from 2012," it claims a series of events could logically happen based on the group's interpretation of Obama's record, Democratic Party positions, recent court rulings and other trends.
Among the claims:
A 6-3 liberal majority Supreme Court that results in rulings like one making gay marriage the law of the land and another forcing the Boy Scouts to "hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys." (In the imagined scenario, The Boy Scouts choose to disband rather than obey).
A series of domestic and international disasters based on Obama's "reluctance to send troops overseas." That includes terrorist attacks on U.S. soil that kill hundreds, Russia occupying the Baltic states and Eastern European countries including Poland and the Czech Republic, and al-Qaida overwhelming Iraq.
Nationalized health care with long lines for surgery and no access to hospitals for people over 80.

Coming from Europe, where public health care is a standard thing, I don't understand this American fantasy that lines would be horrendous if health services were nationalized. I have never had a problem and the system costs me less personally than the American.
Well this is a predictable move, to say the least. Just imagine the craziness that will erupt when Obama is actually elected.
I will be watching Rapturd Rejects all election night!
...Methinks somebody's a weeeee bit crazy.
@ colonel catastrophe: We also have medicare here in Canada, and doctors found they were actually making more after it came out because they didn't have to turn people down.
One states has tried to put in a medicare program for immigrants and poor families who's parents couldn't afford heal insurance for their children, but when people began opting out of insurance so their children would qualify, they took away the program.
*Heterosexual* Scoutmasters can't sleep with Scouts in tents unless they are the boy's own father, but why should FOTF let facts get in the way of a good rant?
I was amazed at how there were just pages and pages against LGBT people, and then and only then did they get to their dire predictions about the economy and other countries. It kinda made it clear where their priorities were at.
Considering Obama wants to send troops to Afghanistan to bolster their numbers and actually fight Al Queda on their turf... no.
Considering straight Scout Masters aren't allowed to sleep in the same tents with scouts, why would that issue even come up? Heck, they couldn't legally overturn anything about the BSA unless they first took away their tax-exempt status first. That one is all fantasy. As far as homosexual marriage... I hope so. If only to piss more people off.
Whatever. I've had my nightmare scenario dreams about the other side, but I've rarely dreamed it would happen.

Considering that thousands have died under Bush, the fundies are actually admitting things will be better under Obama?
Yes, it logically follows that Obama owns the Supreme Court and wants to try to instigate pedophilia.
And that the Supreme Court can even force the Scouts to do that at all.
the thing on scouts also ignores the fact that the boy scouts of america is pretty much one of the only scouting bodies that prohibits atheists and homosexuals from joining.
Also, the horrendous line if nationalized healthcare would only happen if all private health insurance was disbanded, and the people on nationalized healthcare already need to wait, but quite often end up waiting only to be told that they cannot have the operation they need.
It's Focus on the Family.
Is anyone really surprised? My mother used to get their newsletter, and yeah, this is pretty damn par for their twisted course.
P.S. Scoutmasters, as has been said, aren't allowed to sleep in the tents not their own offspring's. And you think you'd get bored of homo = pedo after a while, but I guess Dobson has a one-track mind.
"forcing the Boy Scouts to "hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys" Didn't they already get in trouble several times for that very thing? Dumb fucking fundy.
"Nationalized health care with long lines for surgery and no access to hospitals for people over 80" Why over 80? So we shouldn't be able to provide good health to those who aren't rich? Survival of the richest? I thought christians weren't supposed to worship mammon.
This is some pretty dumb shit. But of course, it's from a conservative fundy christian perspective, so I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised.
"Nationalized health care with long lines for surgery and no access to hospitals for people over 80."
ROFL. Sorry, just ROFL.
The NHS has its problems, but you will get seen (and waiting lists are always falling, year after year) and they have never turned down anyone due to age.
I lived in the UK for five years, during which I got sick with pneumonia.
I was in a hospital room within ten minutes.
Here in the good ole US, I have an Asthma attack at seven o clock at night, and end up waiting in the ER until two in the morning, and don't get to go home until three in the morning.
C'mon this is "fuckus in the family", hypocritical republican asslicks par-excellence. When the hell did they care about access to healthcare for anybody while the GOP was making sure that only the rich could get for the last eight years? And they had no problem with American soldiers being killed for GOP war profiteers for the last 6 years, which may be the #1 problem we have with sending soldiers overseas anytime soon.
1. Gay people don't want to sleep with young boys. It's gross to us, it's gross to them.
2. Why would terrorists attack the US if Obama stops creating them by blowing up innocent people.
3. Russia has no interest in the Baltic states, and indeed the Czech Republic. They have enough problems without picking up those.
4. Al-Qaeda do not own Iraq. It is Moqtuda al Sadr who does.
Gay marriage IS the law of the land, with a 5-4 conservative majority.
(Though, making gay marriage available, doesn't make it mandatory, or mean that EVERYONE suddenly wants to get one. That last one says more about you than you probably want to divulge...)
The Boy Scouts have voluntarily allowed gay boys and leaders in, and no reports of abuse has been heard yet.
Meanwhile, in the Catholic and Protestant churches, reports of priests and pastors abusing kids are still as rampant as ever...
Lots of troops have been sent overseas, still some terrorist attacks on US soil. Most of them have been by right-wing extremists against Planned Parenthood or gay clubs.
Russia does not occupy the Baltic states, but it has (probably) put a stodge president in the Oval Office.
Al-Qaeda is almost destroyed.
No nationalized healthcare, so your're still paying the highest prices for medical care and medication in the Western world.
Confused?
