You can't help someone who won't help themselves. God Bless america for helping Iraq when they didn't want to be helped.

Basically, it says that as a discussion grows longer, a comparison to Nazis will eventually be made.
There is a tradition in lots of newsgroups that when that comparison is made, the thread is over and whoever made it has lost the argument.
Yeah, and thank god we helped those poor mentally ill people around the turn of the 20th century by putting them in asylums, sterilizing them, lobotomizing them, and subjecting them to electroshock therapy...
Maybe I'm going out on a limb, but I'm betting the 30,000+ men, women, and children that have been burned, shot, blown up as innocent civilians since this 'war' started really appreciate the "help"...God really did bless them didn't he?
So showing up uninvited, forceable removing a dictator who was the only thing keeping the country united out of power, and then sit back and let the whole place fall into chaos and civil war counts as helping? Then we sure as hell helped Iraq.
That wasn't the stated reason for invading at the time. The average American didn't give a fuck about the people of Iraq back when the US invaded; they were all screaming about WMDs. That the invasion did, briefly, give them some respite from a totalitarian dictator before the current violent anarchy was allowed to become the norm and made life just as bad, doesn't change the fact that your government lied and misled you into thinking Iraq actually posed some kind of threat.
To paraphrase Orwell "We've always been there to help the Iraqi people!"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
