Charlie . When Jesus came the first time not many did believe him and he was crucified. It was only when he rose again that people were prepared to die to tell his story. When he comes back he will come in his glory and those who don't believe will truely tremble. As for me in studying science I recognise that what purports to be science is most often not. Rather it is an extrapolation of anothers theory that when tested is found to be false. There is no doubt for me that evolutionary theory is infinitely harder to believe than the historical records of Jesus.

I still don't get this mindset. Like, healing blindness and leprosy instantly, and feeding 5000 people with one guy's lunch, just aren't worth writing home about, but that same guy rises from the dead and SUDDENLY, it's big news!
To me, it'd be the other way around. After you've found out a guy can do all the other miraculous stuff Jesus is supposed to have done, rising from the dead is just sort of expected. After all, wouldn't resurrecting yourself be about the same difficulty level as resurrecting Lazarus?
Citations proving that Evolutionary Theory is false?
And, no. It can't be from a Christian University or publisher.
You idiot Christstains couldn't wrap your heads aound the idea of peer review if your lives depended on it.
Of course studying evolutionary biology is harder. It requires years of work and brainpower.
Believing the historical records of Jesus is much, much easier because there aren't any.
Why are you even studying science, then? God, you're worse than Halle Berry's 1st, 3rd and 4th husbands.
Yes, it's very difficult to do all that reading when you can just take what your pastor said as absolute truth.
But no matter how difficult it might be for you to figure out, science is science because they test their information, hypothesis, and whatnot. You cannot test your creation stories because they're based strictly on faith. Yes, faith is easier, but it's hardly more correct.
Which historical records of Jesus? Meaning historical records OUTSIDE of the bible.
Realistically, there are more historical records attesting to the existence of Harry Potter. (At least the books about HP are consistent with each other).
Which historical records?
There is only the bible...
you won´t find any other historical records that directly mention Jesus himself.
All historical records where Jesus is mentioned just are about the faith of the christians.
Considering the remarkable events that according to the bible took place, like the feeding of the 5000 (this is >=5000 people, more than many of the smaller settlements of Judaea had in inhabitants ;) ), or the 3hr long solar eclipse with full moon at the same time, that allegedly happened during Jesus crucifixation, one should assume that a lot of eye witnesses would have written about these events. And/or that we should find lots of accounts by renowned jistorians of this times about Jesus and the things he did.
But yet we find almost nothing about Jesus, just one brief entry in Josephus, part of which is probably a forgery by christians, a brief entry in Tacitus about christians getting murdered by Nero.... nothing however about the great deeds of Jesus himself.
Not much for a person who allegedly caused/did things that not even the mightiest emperor could do
;)
Such humble and measured tones. Such a reasonable affectation. Such harmless, and artless, misdirection. Such platitudinous sound bites. Such a heap of lousy ignorance. Such a filthy pile of blatant lies.
"There is no doubt for me that evolutionary theory is infinitely harder to believe than the historical records of Jesus."
Yeah, that's really the word. Scientific theories are usually harder to believe - and understand - than the products of human intuition and imagination, because our minds aren't perfectly adapted to the way nature works.
"As for me in studying science I recognise that what purports to be science is most often not."
Yeah. . . you may know that some "science" is not actually science, but you clearly can't tell which is which.
Even if there is a historical record of some guy called Jesus, it still doesn't give him super powers, no is it evidence for him being the son of god... I won't even mention the whole resurrection thing and..... wait a moment, by "historical record" you're not referring to the bible, are you?
"When he comes back he will come in his glory and those who don't believe will truely tremble."
I'll worry about that when it happens. But if the bible stories are true, Jesus was a pretty good guy. You know, all about forgiveness & such. I really don't think he'd be angry that people don't believe in him.
As for evolution being harder to believe than historical records of Jesus, there's mountains of evidence for evolution and absolutely none, aside from conflicting reports in the bible, that shows that Jesus actually existed. You might want to check out www.jesusneverexisted.com .
Your problem is suimmed up in your last sentence. You see, I don't "believe" in things. There is either evidence to support a position or there isn't. Period. Belief is not required for rational people. That being said and in all fairness, it is possible for rational people to incorrectly interpret the evidence but fortunately for us science is self correcting like that. When we find evidence that doesn't agree with current theory we change the theory, you change the evidence.
Also, and probably most importantly, you are a stupid douchebag.

There's also a brief mention in Suetonius's Lives of the Twelve Caesars about a Jewish man named Chrestus who created a "harmful superstition" among the Jews. Whether this refers to Christ ("Christos" in Greek) or not is still debated.
Those three sources are the only secular references to Christ or Christianity from the 1st Century. That's it.
"He will come in his glory"
I am beginning to think that Jesus has a sexual disorder. We've been waiting how long getting the pelvic thrust from fundies? Jesus christ, come already. This is getting obnoxious.

Please show all these theories that have been found to be false, and the evidence that falsified them. Or admit that you're a liar.
Testing, whether the hypothesis is found to be true or false, is good science. Deciding that science is most often worthless or unreliable is just poor thinking.
That some ancient fairy tale is easier for your inadequate mind to understand than the ToE is irrelevant.
So, where are all these historical records of Jesus? It's all in the Bible, you say? Nowhere else? Sorry, that is not a historical record.
Plus, Jesus' story includes him saying he will come back within the lifetime of his disciples. They have all been dead now for 1900 years and more. Guess you missed his second coming. Perhaps he did come back, and this time NO-ONE believed him, they just burned him at the stake with a couple of witches.
What "historical records of Jesus." you talkin' 'bout Dale? It's only the Bible. A historical unrecognized book. Many have investigated, real pros, and come to the conclusion it's mostly an unreliable, unsubstantiated (read: Fiction) collection of folk tales.

There is no point in arguing with people as deranged as this. The question is why isn't whichever school he attends teaching him properly?
In fairness, I work with a lot of people who find the stories of Jesus much easier to understand (and therefore believe) than evolutionary theory. But these are folks with severe learning disabilities and supported as such. Evolution, especially in its detail, is not the easiest thing in science to get your head round. Response of intelligent person to this fact: I must concentrate harder until I have understood. Response of brainwashed fundie: I'll stick with the Bible, I don't have to think too hard then.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
