Now, the proper religion metaphor would be: Your house is on fire, you have thousands, even millions of different liquids, and only one of them is actually water. Now, you can't taste or smell these liquids, and there's a million idiots claiming that only *their* liquid is actually water, and that the other liquids will not only incenerate your house faster, but also probably make you stupid and very unhappy before you too catch fire and die horribly.

In any case, it is the chemical properties of water and gasoline that make the former suited for quenching flames and the latter better for spreading them. This can be verified empirically and easily demonstrated.
You may claim to offer an analogy for religion, but it doesn't work. One cannot test the absurd mystical claims of religion. There are happy and successful people of all major religions, and there are many who get along just fine without any religion whatsoever. The only thing Christianity has going for it is this heaven business, but I would like you to prove to me that heaven even exists before volunteering for the fire department.
As a matter of fact, chemical foam works better than gas or water. And what created chemical foam? Science! Therefore science is better than religion at putting out fires, and is therefore better period.

That's the problem I have with Christianity. They're trying to tell me I can get a free house, but it's on fire, and I need to put it out by buying them water, but I never get to see the house.

My neighbor's house was on fire a couple of months ago. The fire department poured water on it for hours and hours. We had barely any water in our faucets the next day.
A fire extinguisher needs to "strangle" the fire; take away the oxygen that feeds the fire. Our pretty white fire extinguisher is of the dry powder variety, not water. Water doesn't work well with fire in electric components, but dry powder does.
Most deities allegedly say that their particular faith is superior to all other faiths. So what?
