[Reacting to Richard Dawkins Bus Ad.]
The reason I don't worry in life or worry less is because I believe in god, its my safety net, how dare the BIGOTED humanist Society try to take that away.
When there is so much doom and gloom around just now this is the last thing we need being shoved down our throats.
What we need something cheerful that can inspire us and give us hope, not this nonsense!

The reason I don't worry in life or worry less is because I believe in god, its my safety net crutch , how dare the BIGOTED humanist Society try to take that away.
And not being haunted by the idea of some magical man in the sky who arbitrarily decides to do dickish things if you don't bow to him in exactly the right way is a cheerful, hopeful, inspiring thought in my book.
I'm happy to these ads. It's "freedom of speech" when you see a billboard in the American country side that promotes the Christian God, but it's hate speech when it is atheist. Good for them. Public space is for everyone, not just bible-belters.
"The reason I don't worry in life or worry less is because I believe in god, its my safety net"
See? You believe because you're afraid of death. What a pansy.
"how dare the BIGOTED humanist Society try to take that away."
1.) They're not taking anything away from rubes such as yourself.
2.) It's free speech. Love it or fuck off.
"When there is so much doom and gloom around just now this is the last thing we need being shoved down our throats."
Yeah because Christians never, EVER put messages in commercials, on buses, on billboards, on Church signs, on blogs, in TV shows and on a rip-off of Youtube.
"What we need something cheerful that can inspire us and give us hope, not this nonsense!"
If all you have is an argument from emotion then let me say, I'm not depressed as an atheist so, as they say online, die in a fire.
"I believe in god, its my safety net,"
I hate to break it to you but your God has a nasty habit of pulling the chair away as you try to sit in it.
Flood that killed thousands, a talking snake and some fruit, ringing any bells?
"What we need something cheerful that can inspire us and give us hope"
Like a little bit of atheism and rational thought, seriously, try it, it won't kill you.
You fatuous, weak-willed, nincompoop, saying or reading words on the side of a bus can't take anything away from you.
Like when a Christian says, "Praise the Lord." or "God commanded that all should be slain, even the mothers and infants" It takes nothing away from me, I just think, "What an evil pratt, if that's the sort of simpleton that religion turns one into, then it's definitely not for me.
i love these comments from the daily fail..."BIGOTED humanist" eh. RIIIIIIGGGGHHHTT so just remind me, is it the humanists who are calling for abortion clinics to be blown up, for the new american president to be assainated (no doubt because he's black), and that homosexuals and atheists are massacred and buried in mass graves.......
well fuck me sideways, its not the humanists, but the bloody CHRSITARDS
oh and incidently it was not "Prof.Richard Dawkins" slogan it was set up by the British Humanist Assosiation of which im a proud member, also (and this'll piss you off) we where told by the ASA that we had to insert "probably" in there as it would have been false advertising
well done mate, you get the wanker of the week award. now kindly fuck off out of my country. thank you!!!!!
Something cheerful and inspiring like "If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13)
Yep, the Bible is full of inspirational quotes.
What we need something cheerful that can inspire us and give us hope
Convert or die and burn! Yeah, that's so full of hope. I'm inspired, alright. To keep pointing and laughing at your kind, that is.
"...I believe in god, its my safety net, how dare the BIGOTED humanist Society try to take that away. "
The only person who can take that away is you, when you realise their arguments make more sense than yours. It's normal when someone with a superior argument makes you re-think your own position on a subject; it's called being rational and sane. It's happened to me countless times and I was happy to re-adjust my opinion upon realisation that I was wrong on all those occassions...but then I'm not a fundtard.
What's the matter? Having doubts about your faith? Kepp thinking, keep thinking...
The reason I don't worry in life or worry less is because I believe in god, its my safety net,
See, if you had stopped here, I'd have just nodded and smiled and said, "That's nice." But you didn't. You had to keep typing. Now, we have to mock you. Nothing personal, mind you. It's just that, well, you're a moron.
By the way, how come no one caught the freudian slip of calling "god" an "it"?
Ooooookay. You put up signs saying that women who abort are evil, and hellbound, and that's okay. Atheists state their disbelief in public, and tell people that they should be good to each other for the sake of being good to them, and...hate speech?
"I believe in god, its my safety net, how dare the BIGOTED humanist Society try to take that away."
The truth hurts, doesn't it?
"its my safety net"
And when you realise that your silly 'Faith' & belief that you'll go to this place called 'Heaven' after you die is merely an emotional security blankie because you can't face the fact that you'll end up rotting in the ground, you'll realise why those bus slogans exist.
"What we need something cheerful that can inspire us and give us hope"
You're reading the wrong paper then mate. I mean, scaremongering about Immigrants, House Prices, and Phones/Food/Existence Causes Cancer is all in a day's work for the Mail.
Again the unwavering faith is shooken to bits by a few words.
If you say to an Atheist "maybe there is a God" the Atheist will reply, usually, "maybe there is"
I'll reply "maybe, but not YOUR God"
If you say to a Christian " maybe there is no God" you'll get some sort of break-down.
Yes, let's hope and pray for the best and do nothing to prepare for the worst. You, Paul Coatbridge, want a world of happiness and hope? You have to make your own way to happiness and hope and that is certainly not through an abusive bully but instead through trying to make the world a better place by showing compassion and love to your fellow man, not trying to convert them into worshiping a false hope. Hope is nothing without the willpower to enact it and that willpower will do nobody any good when it's bent upon commanding others to convert or send them into hellfire.
Yes, just look at the folks on Rapture Ready. Now there's a cheerful lot. Or the Westboro Baptist Church. Who would ever be cruel enough to take their hope from them? And one need only watch a Ray Comfort video to know that True Christians (tm) have no tolerance at all for nonsense.
But then if your faith is so feeble that you feel it is challenged by a bus ad, you're probably not a True Christian (tm).
Boo hoo hoo, I only want to hear and see things that affirm my beliefs! Why isn't there a law againt everything else?
Dear Paul, please grow up and learn to share the world, because there are 6,999,999,999 others living in it, just like you. That is surly what Jesus would want.
Confused?
