Untill this century it wasn't widely accepted for women to wear pants. It was considered improper. The awful feminist movement changed that, so young ladies our age don't have a lot of modest examples to look to, save godly women in our churches. Modest apparel meant long flowing garment. Pants, shorts, culotts, etc do not line up with this.
Those garmets naturaly draw a persons eyes to areas taht aren't meant to be excentuated or seen publicly. What godly woman wants to cause her brother in Christ to sin with his eyes by exposing herself?

Oh man - 100 years ago showing ankles was sinful. Get with the program girlie. -- oh and get some lycra gym gear! (mumble pants - you can see the lips moving, but you can't quite make out what they're saying)
Gee so all that stuff from medieval times with codpieces and low cut bodices was all a figment of our imagination. And the greek athletes never competed naked.
A gymnasium comes from the Greek word "gymnos" - naked. "A place to be naked".
I've got a gymnastics program all lined up for you girlie - now clasp your ankles and try to put your head on your knees.
What about all those men running around wearing tight pants that show off their butts or their package? What about the men who wear their pants hanging around their ass showing off their boxers? What about Tom Jones?
You know, women aren't the only ones who can cause lustful thoughts. I bet she thinks women who get raped were wearing "revealing" clothing too...

This is true, in the West anyways.
Throughout much of eastern asia, women
have worn pants for millenia when
working in the fields.
Ummm hon - the most recent feminist movement was LAST century. And yes there were ones before that too!
"Putting the Berk in Burqa" Award?
In her defence, the holy book does say this:
"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms ... " [24:31]
"O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them. That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful." [33:59]
I wonder if she knows her own Bible:
"But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her headit is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil.
"For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. (For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.) That is why a woman ought to have a veil on her head, because of the angels....If any one is disposed to be contentious, we recognize no other practice, nor do the churches of God." (1 Corinthians 11:3-10,16)
(eg WEAR A VEIL!!!!) Oh and she's already broken the stuff about women being in silence!!!
Looove fundies -- you're all going to burn in helllllll !!!!
"A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God." (Deut 22:5).
(Picky little bugger aint he!)
A Christian man sins by looking at a woman's knees? What if they belong to an old or fat woman? Is there any leeway with this? And what about men wearing shorts and exposing their knees to women's sinful gaze?
Maybe, to be safe, we should require both genders to wear floor-length robes whenever they go out.
Yes, and up until the start of World War I, parents routinely dressed their little boys in dresses, with long, curly hair and even lipstick. Hmmmm....
The human body isn't inherently sinful! It's beautiful, and should be celebrated. We wear clothes to protect ourselves from the elements, not to cover our naughty bits!
We sexualize the parts that are normally covered up because THEY ARE COVERED! The forbidden is always sexualized. If women covered their necks, men would suddenly remember that women have beautiful long, warm curved necks that smell wonderful and that when you kiss a woman's neck you can actually feel the pulse of her life!
Don't pants make it harder for someone to accidently get a peek at her gentiles?
Hee.
In Genesis, when God made man and woman - they were totally nude. After they wore leaves (and ate that fruit), god was pissed.
Moral of the story: Your god would love it if all people roamed around nekkid.
Have you ever seen a Kammeez or Sari. Those are traditional indian garments for women, and are the most beautiful things you could ever wish to see. They consist of a calf length tunic, and *gasp* ankle length PANTS!!!
And I guess you've never seen a man in a kilt before? For your information Sweet Heart a Kilt is a knee length garment, without any bifurcation at all. In fact to the uneducated the common kilt could be mistaken as a SKIRT!!!
And men in parts of Asia wear sarongs all the time. The sarong is simply a peice of fabric you wrap around your waist for modesty's sake, and it's really good looking on men.
Actually, dresses were necessary because of menstruation, but now we have godly MaxiPads. But stay away from those sinful tampons! They're satan's little fingers! Well, at least www.landoverbaptist.com says....
Illuvatarwen: You're half right... salwar kameez does involve pants, but the sari does not.

Actually, I'd wear either one gladly, they're so pretty. It's too bad these aren't in fashion for American women.
Yet men can go around shirtless. What godly man wants to cause his sister in Christ to sin with her eyes by exposing himself? Oh, I'm sorry, it's only women who need to cover themselves because apparently men have the intellectual and physical capabilities and restraints of animals. Get a grip.
Exposing herself? In pants? Ever heard on mini skirts? Far more revealing if you ask me, plus, one good gust of wind will show you why women wear pants. Plus, these days skirts are generally worn by the more promiscuos females. Not all, but generally. Why? Because pants are more conservative! Jeez.
Confused?
