Who is Barak Obama. Do we really know. So Obama is an American just as they are not really "real" babies that are being systematically exterminated in the wombs by the thousands. If you accept the Bible as the Word of God then one must come to the realization that God will judge the world and every soul that has been created from the beginning. All Points 2 Jesus. Repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus says " you must be born again ". I do not want the USA to bomb Syria... but maybe there is something much greater than all of this... Maybe this is Gods way of getting our attention. The bible states that we will all die... and then comes judgement as we are face to face with the Living and only God. Salvation is a gift from the Creator, as Jesus paid the price on the cross and rose from the dead 3 days later... but the gift must be accepted individually !

Why? Why does God not just save everyone, all at once? His way of doing it strikes me as very inefficient and strange.
You can't base your life on an idea that doesn't make sense. And the idea of vicarious redemption, of wrongs being righted by blood sacrifice, by a deity embodying himself as his own son, offering salvation from a fate that he himself created, DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. I wanted it to make sense, but no matter how you look at it, it doesn't.
Maybe it is because I am living across the big pond and don’t get every news item from the USA, but what exactly is Obama doing different with regard to abortion than Bush did?
Why do they ignore that Bush did nothing to stop abortions but the moment Obama is in office he is personally responsible for every aborted fetus in the US if not the world?
And that’s not even considering the question if the president even could do something if he wanted.
Obama= Abortion= Bombing Syria
Whuh? if right wing fundies think like that,maybe I'm starting to understand Bush Jr:s politics better...
So God sets up this system where he makes people worthy of eternal punishment by default, and then offers a way out of the punishment if they believe unbelievable stories written in an ancient book and follow some strange rituals.
If he were really such a great, loving God, why did he create Hell in the first place, and set it up so everyone goes there unless they're in his special club?

He's doing it while being black.
Though to be fair, the hard core of what is today the TEA Party was pretty pissed about Bush not doing anything too. The difference is that these people now have the support of those who supported Bush and that thanks to loads of tax evading "reforming" rich people they now have a megaphone called the TEA Party.

That may be, but I bet we will not find any quotes here saying that Bush gets his rocks off by letting late-term fetuses that are still alive after the procedure die on the operating table. But I can remember multiple posts like that or similar about Obama, some even from before he was even sworn in.
I don’t like to equal every criticism of Obama with racism*. I rather suspect these people are so entrenched into their black-and-white mindset, that they really think every Democrat gets some kind of satisfaction from aborting “babies”
The same way they cannot see their political opponents simply as someone who also wants to achieve the best for their country and just has a different opinions about the methods. No, the “others” have to hate America and want to destroy it! It’s rather sad how predominant this way of thinking seems to be in American politics.
*With the exception of birtherism.
@Kuno: Knocking the copilot out and attempting to take full control, that's what. The siege mentality is there such that "I prevent you from screwing me over by screwing you over first". In a sense, everything on your side is justified, and the same thing on the other side is an infernal evil. A considerable amount of Republican sensationalist rhetoric focuses on shooting the messenger by virtue of their provenance.
they are not really "real" babies that are being systematically exterminated in the wombs by the thousands.
Ok, I have in my outstretched hands a baby and a petri dish containing a live foetus... I'm going to drop them, and you can catch only one of them.
Which one? If you really believe that the foetus is the same as the baby, you CAN'T make the choice without flipping a coin or something.
Fact is, we both know that you will instantly choose to catch the baby... we both know that you do NOT consider the foetus to be the same as the baby, so how about you stop fucking lying about it and be honest for once?
"they are not really "real" babies that are being systematically exterminated in the wombs by the thousands"
Hosea 13:16. You FAIL.
"Jesus says " you must be born again"
Was born just fine the first time round, thanks. Instead of being 'Born Again', try growing up. You FAIL II.
"Salvation is a gift from the Creator, as Jesus paid the price on the cross"
Romans 11:26-32. Jews - religious or not - are going to heaven, regardless of being 'saved' (Messianic 'Jews for Jesus') or not . You FAIL III, and have struck out, Artificial Fernandez.
Jesus says " you must be born again "
No he didn't. Jesus said "you must be born anothen (Greek)". Anothen has two different meanings: "again" or "from heaven or God". Nicodemus misunderstands and thinks Jesus means "again". Jesus corrects him and makes it clear he meant the other meaning.
Unfortunately, there isn't a single word in English that can translate "anothen", so the passage is impossible to translate. If Jesus' first comment is translated as "from heaven" (which is what Jesus actually meant), then Nicodemus' question about returning to the womb makes no sense. If it's translated as "again", now Nicodemus' question makes sense, but Jesus' reply to him doesn't answer his question. The translator had to pick one meaning or the other, so he picked "again".
Incidentally, it's unlikely that Jesus and Nicodemus would have been speaking Greek, since the Jews in that area spoke Aramaic among themselves. This makes the whole story suspect, since "anothen" probably has no single equivalent in Aramaic, either.
"Who is Barak (sic) Obama.(sic)"
Just a man like you and me. In all honesty the President doesn't have as much power as people attribute to them. Checks and balances work reasonably well, and right now the balance between left and right is fairly even.
Its almost entirely pointless to try to blame one political figure in the US, there are cases where it is appropriate, but largely responsibility lies along party lines.
As for Syria, I'm not sure how I feel about taking military action against the Assad Regime. On the one hand, they used chemical weapons on a civilian area; on the other hand, the US needs to cut back on military spending until the economy stabilizes. The US should also try to gain UN and NATO support for any military operations, the chemical weapons attack is a clear violation of international law and needs the international community to respond to it, not just the US.
What I do know, is that military operation against Syria will not lead to the apocalypse. As there will be no apocalypse. The book of revelations is an allegory for Rome, nothing more.
@Kuno: No, you wont see many here, which is also because many Republicans (and even RNC in the 2012 election) are trying to forget the Bush era. Which is pretty impressive considering that even the Soviet Union under Khrushchev gave itself a few years to think about all the things that went horribly wrong during Stalin's reign. There are two more important facts though,
1) The Republican Party has seen rapid change after the 2008 election. The TEA Party has basically formed a Party within a Party, threatening to primary every moderate candidate that does not fall in line thereby silencing all critical Republican voices that might just point those things out - the delusional inmates are running the assylum.
2) The Republicans went from slightly nuts to full blown crazy. Their weird ideology of social revisionism and libertarian economics has become one of those closed of ideologies like Nazism, Orthodox Marxism, Maoism or Juche where outside information doesn't penetrate their thinking anymore. Part of this closing off of thought is process of self-radicalisation. And of course you can't trust the media, so you only listen to the media who agrees with you who spout more and more lies about the people you didn't like anyway - put that in an over heated oven for five years in any country and you soon arrive at the worse-than-Hitler-phase. So what you get is some conservative that was rather rational in the Bush era stranded on indoctrination island polishing his gun, while, well, "polishing his gun". To make this shorter, it's not that something about Obama is different it's that the reporting on him is different.
@Kuno (Part II):
I don't think the average Republican is a racist either. But you don't need to be a racist to be riled up against some group or a specific person - actually especially as Germans we should consider that a lot of misinformation will do the job just fine. But the seed of riling people up, is sown upon the field of distrust against any black person living in America. And so together with misinformation, yes the reason why they treat Obama this badly is mainly his skin color, but not certainly racism. Give it 50 or a 100 years, same thing might happen to a white president.
There's one born again every minute!
Horus, Prometheus, Krishna, Mithas, Mithra and several others rose from the dead after 3 days.
Identical legends to JC except a couple of thousand years earlier.
Who is George Walker Bush? Do we really know?
Doesn't the Bible say that governments are put in place by the grace of God, something like that?
To answer your first question: He's the President of the United States of America. Also, do you know what questions marks are? Hint: See that little symbol I put on the end of that question I just asked? Ooh, there it is again!
Also I see your surname is "Fernandez," so I'm guessing you're of Hispanic origin. You may not know this, but those fundamentalist Republican types who hate Obama also tend to be prejudiced against people like you. Are you sure you want to throw your lot in with them? Look, there's that strange symbol again!
@Mister Spak, Swede
The standard test for senility here in the UK is to ask the person concerned 'Who is the Prime Minister?'
Artificial Fernandez here must have advanced Alzheimer's, then, if he doesn't know who is the Leader of the Free World...!
You'd think that fundies would be thrilled with Obama in regards to abortion, considering the fact that abortion clinics are being shut down--and access to them rolled back--at a rate totally unheard of during Bush's era, and in fact since Roe vs Wade was passed. All over the place, women's lives--and those of the actual children some of them already have--are being destroyed in the name of Jesus. Logically, fundies should be pretty damn happy with Obama, at least when it comes to their burning desire to turn The Handmaid's Tale into reality.
But you know, there is that thing about his being black, so.......
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
