[Regarding a list of religions recognized by the military]
Funny, Atheism isn't in that list.
I guess it's really true that there aren't any athiests in foxholes.

As to your conclusion, you are wrong, son. As a survivor of the "foxholes" I can tell you that, yes, indeed, there are atheists in foxholes. The war machine, at least, doen't discriminate based or religion or lack thereof.
I give up, why don't you ask the Atheist Chaplain? Oh yeah, there ain't one because ATHEISM IS NOT A RELIGION, idiot!
My husband, a former Marine, would disagree. In fact, he stated that most Marines are either Atheists, Satanists or Pagans. So, there ya go.

Hey come on, don't make us chant "anecdotal evidence" at you.
Firstly atheism IS on the list, and secondly atheism is a rejection of religion.
I would also point out that Non-religious makes up the 3rd largest category on this planet.
Also there are many classified as christians or muslims because they were born in a country that automatically assumes that is thier religion, which effectively cuts by at least 40% of your flock.
As for no atheists in foxholes, I assume you have a very poor military record as you and your hypocritical de facto Rupture Ready "christians" are christians in name only.
So if, for some bizarre reason, they took Christianity off the list, you'd no longer be a Christian?
There are Pagans, Buddhists, Atheists, Hindus and religious faiths of all other types huddled in the foxholes with the pain in the ass, judgmental fundie soldiers.
I'd be willing to bet the fundies feel a lot safer than the non-fundie soldiers. It's difficult to trust someone who can't decide who is most deserving of the bullet; the enemy or the soldier who is in dire immediate need of spiritual cleansing?
Quote: I think you should have to serve a stint in one of the armed forces before you're allowed to sit at your computer all day making smartass remarks. I'm volunteering you right now to go to Georgia. End quote.
Haven't the Georgians suffered enough?
Pat Tillman was, at the very least, an agnostic. And there was a man who had read the Bible, Koran and Book of Mormon.
Of course atheism isn't a religion, but fundies are really big on projecting. They have strict dogma, so everyone does. They have indoctrination, so everyone does. They engage in proselytising, so everyone does. I was raised fundie and I can't count the number of times I heard a rock concert described as proceeding more or less exactly like a fundie church service, complete with an altar call at the end. They really can't conceive of anyone doing things very differently from the way they do them.
Officially, it's not a religion, FOR EVERYBODY, except you, apparently.

WE WILL DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES EACH DAY, FROM MULTIPLE COMPUTERS AND WORKSTATIONS, IN ORDER TO COUNTERBALANCE THE ATHEIST BIAS OF THIS WEBSITE.

My father, a former paratrooper, was an atheist in a foxhole. Several foxholes, actually.
Now he's an atheist out of a foxhole. He chipped a tooth in his military service, but iirc, that's it.
At none of these points was he religious.
I guess the military knows how to recognize a religion better than you do.
It's not a religion, therefore it doesn't NEED to be on the fucking list. It's a LACK of religion.
Those are probably on a list so that military chaplains know how to handle their religious matters...
You don't need to give an atheist that sort of spiritual comfort.
Also, I'm not an atheist, but I would like to smack some sense into the person that came up with the phrase 'There are no atheists in foxholes.'
"there aren't any athiests in foxholes"
That isn't a saying against Atheists thats a saying against foxholes.
More to the point atheisim isn't a religeon and two what does that have to do with anything?
Well, I'd assume it's because no atheists actually asked for any religious accommodations, because...
... screw it, you all know where this is going.
"I give up, why don't you ask the Atheist Chaplain? Oh yeah, there ain't one because ATHEISM IS NOT A RELIGION, idiot!" Wasn't Skippy the atheist chaplain?
If there are no atheists in foxholes then where did I spend ten years of my life, at the fucking beach?
That line was an insulting lie when it was first uttered, and it's always been a lie.
Confused?
