I’ll tell you, I just came back from the Middle East, and it was refreshing. With all that is going on, it was refreshing not to be constantly bombarded with smut all the time.

The only way I can be bombarded with smut all the time, is look for it on my computer and watch it. Instead of earning a living, taking care of myself and loved ones, and enjoying an active social life. What the hell is Christine doing to be bombarded all the time?
Don't get too excited, people. The only reason she feels bombarded with "smut" here in the states, is because her definition of the word probably includes skirts that show ankles. Which is exactly why she longs for the Middle East in the first place.
Yes, I bet it is refreshing to get away from the West because here one suffers from a surfeit of pedophile priests whose rapacious antics are constantly in the media. There again, being in the Middle East and knowing that one is smack dab in the middle of female genital mutilation land, I bet that creeps one out.

Constantly bombarded with smut? Only if you go looking for it. I haven't seen any smut all day. Unless you consider the two girls with the short-shorts, halter tops and knee high boots heading for the the Giants game. I wouldn't call that smut, a tad inappropriate attire perhaps, but not smut.
Now obscenity, THAT I've seen today, but it was the way the Giants played and had nothing to do with sex.

It really amazes me how people like this complain about being "bombarded with smut" all the time when all they have to do is turn off the TV or turn it to TBN or something. Oh but I guess TBN is boring and the "smut" is more interesting.
And it really amazes me how this lady could get elected to anything. Who wants to bet that she polishes the pearl as much as possible? Seems like it's always the ones out crusading against sex or porn who are the real freaks, just like the anti-gay politicians usually end up in gay sex scandals.

Hey, you wanna be a prude that's your thing but as soon as you cross the line and try to enforce it on others that's when I'll be pissed and will work against you in every way I possibly can. And not because I enjoy a little smut (I do), but because I believe in freedom and you can't fucking take that away from me or anyone.
Going to a place where nobody feels the need to flaunt their sexuality is one thing, and I can appreciate how that might be regarded as refreshing. Going to a place where there's a good chance the authorities will kill anyone who does is something else, and "refreshing" isn't a word it immediately calls to mind.
