The 6 24 hour days of Creation is a LIE of man. Even the Bible states (2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4) that the length of God's Day is 1000 human years! Since no human was alive until the 6th day of Creation, the Creation Narrative CAN NOT be using human days (since there were no such things as human beings before God created them). The closest approximation of the true calendar ( the Hebrew Calendar) is off by about 7000 years (including the 1st Sabbath Day, which occurred while Adam slept and DID NOT AGE) minus one week. So the earth by Biblical standards is closer to 13,000 years old. Anything less is, in my opinion, unbiblical!

Correct. Well done!
Unfortunately, the rest of your babbling isn't much better.
(copy-pasted from another thread, with some changes)
Ok, so you take silly quotes from random places, and make fun of them here. Questions:
1. Science is fueled by debate, yet there is none here. 99% of the people posting, seem to share the same basic beliefs - meaning, they are either atheist or agnostic, or just dont believe any kind of non-scientific explanations to anything.
So, and since the majority of your readers agrees with you in the first place, whats the point of posting here, and whats the fun of doing it?
2. I can understand using the silly quotes as inspiration for wit and sarcasm, but many of you actually respond to them, as someone that wants to be heard.
And yet, the author of the quote will probably never see your response. This confuses me: why come here to write detailed rebuttals, or unwitty things like "Fail", "WTF" and so on, to someone that will never read them?
Thanks.
I pity YECs who reject the 6000 year old bible history.
For one, other YECs reject their view for being too old.
The rest of us reject their view for being too young.
Of course, that doesn't make them any less crazy.
Jesus Christ! First they're whining because people don't believe the earth is young enough, now they say some think it's too young ? This could get very silly very quickly.
"The Earth is clearly 13,000 years and twenty minutes old!"
"Nuh-uh! Scripture places it's age at 13,000 years and seventeen minutes! You'll burn in Hell, heretic!"
The 6 24 hour days of Creation is a LIE of man.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Someone actually got it!!!
The rest, um..... er..... Well, we'll give you a cookie for not believing it was 6 days.
Unfortunately, your fundie friends are now coming for you with torches and pitchforks.
I don't know what YOUR bible says but MY bible says:
1.)"God called the light 'day' and the darkness he called 'night'. And there was evening and there was morning - the first day" - Gen 1:5
2.) "And there was evening, and there was morning - the second day" Gen 1:8
And so forth. MY bible clearly indicates a 24 hour solar cycle. QED.
Get a grip, Shawn. Don't you get it? The bible in whatever edition is the most popular anthology of fiction ever published.
I know it's great fun to try and reconcile the contradictions and plot holes, but you don't have to take it too seriously.
"Human days"?
Okay, here's the thing. A day is defined as the time it takes the earth to make one full revolution (actually it's a little less than that, which is why we have leap years, but whatever). Whether or not man exists has nothing to do with how long it takes the earth to revolve once.
This is PRIMARY-SCHOOL level science!
Yeah... I just read those passages.
They don't say anything of the sort. They appear to be about God not being bound by time, not about the length of an actual day.
Even if God did a thousand year's worth of work in 'a day', that day was still 24 hours.
The 6 24 hour days of Creation is a LIE of man. Even the Bible states (2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4) that the length of God's Day is 1000 human years!
Well, perhaps if your divine, "perfect" book weren't written in such a way that you'd have to cross-reference wildly across different books and volumes through tens of thousands of verses, often written centuries apart, without the benefit of any kind of reference or indexing system, just to find out what damn units of measurement it uses on the first fucking page, people wouldn't misinterpret it so badly!
Cold, cold, warmer, no retard, this way...
Shawn was talking to God. He said, "Is it true that to you a second is like 10,000 years?"
And God said, "Yes, it is true."
Then Shawn asked, "Is it true that to you a million dollars is like a penny?"
And God answered, "Yes, it is true."
So Shawn asked, "Can I have a penny?"
And God answered, "Sure, just a second."
Anything less is, in my opinion, unbiblical!
translation: fuck you all im right cuz i said so!
"Even the Bible states (2 Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4) that the length of God's Day is 1000 human years!"
Or maybe Psalm 90 (which 2 Peter quotes) was just being metaphorical, and saying that God has a really really long memory.
If you insist that this passage means that each Day of Creation was exactly 1000 years long, then Revelation 7:1 must mean that the Earth is square .
In the name of natural selection, I give you this dollar, which I pay to anybody who denounces YEC*.
If you agreed with me you could have gotten as many as 10 dollars, but thanks for playing.
*No I don't...
"Anything less is, in my opinion, unbiblical!"
Good for you! Now, just extend that date about.... 4 billion years, and you're just about right.
"Days" and "years" have to do with rotation of the earth and its orbit around the sun. There were days and years before there was any living creature to see them.
...and "unbiblical" is what we do here.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
