(Commenting on a story about a company that turns cremated ashes into memorial synthetic diamonds.)
"Each one takes between three weeks and three months to create...The chemistry is easy..." Don't the evolutionists say that diamonds require millions of years to form & therefore evidence for and old earth? Obviously, all that is needed is a short period of time plus the right conditions. Hmmmmmm.......

Natural diamonds do take a long time to form. However, we've been manufacturing diamonds for years. Diamond drill bits, etc, are made from manufactured diamonds, not natural diamonds, otherwise they would cost a fortune.
You also obviously fail to realize that the "right conditions" for diamonds to be formed quickly are literally IMPOSSIBLE in nature. It's only through the power of modern science that we can craft diamonds in weeks instead of eons.
FAIL
All that is needed for diamonds is the following
1) HEAT
2) PRESSURE
3) A Carbon based crystal
Now these can be replicated in the workshop, the russians have been doing it since the 1960's
Now that was not so hard was it? I think the give away to your argument is the word "synthetic"
I saw some video that claimed GE found a cheaper way to artificially manufacture commerical quality diamonds. That was all well and good until DeBeers found out and threatened to flood the industrial quality diamond market, which was GE's little diamond niche.
Plausible, but suspicious considering that the engineering world is flooded with conspiracy theories just like that one. There's one, for example, that insists the worlds biggest rubber manufacturer holds the patent to an ultrasonic windscreen wiper with no moving parts just so they can prevent it from ever being built and destroying their lucrative market for replacement wiper blades. If you think that's bad, take a look at all the mindless fundie idiocy behind the mythical, "suppressed" water fuelled car, or any of the myriad perpetual motion machines out there, or some of the lesser known inventions of Nikola Tesla. (It should be noted that some of them do have marginal validity - the "Tesla Turbine", for example, actually does work and can be built, but there isn't a chance in hell that it could achieve the ridiculously high efficiencies that its more fundie proponents claim.)
Yes, they take months because we're MAKING them.
They take millions of years to form in nature because NOBODY is making them there.
Obviously, all that is needed is a short period of time plus the right conditions.
Either that or access to an HPHT apparatus. If you're really lucky (or really wealth) you might try getting your hands on some Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) equipment. I'm sure Dr. Tracy H. Hall, holder of 19 registered patents related to the creation of synthetic diamonds will laugh in your face be glad to assist you. He might even point and laugh let you borrow his equipment.
Don't the evolutionists say that diamonds require millions of years to form & therefore evidence for and old earth?
No. They use zircons, which tend to incorporate uranium in their crystal structure, but not lead. So any lead in a zircon came from the uranium by nuclear decay. Since U-238 has a half life of about 4.5 billion years, the age of the zircon can be estimated by the ratio of uranium to lead.
"Don't the evolutionists say"
No, because evolution doesn't have a damned thing to do with diamonds.
"Obviously, all that is needed is a short period of time plus the right conditions."
Where right conditions includes a machine specifically designed to form diamonds by applying high amounts of heat and pressure. It's also powered by electricity at one point or another.
Dumbass.
I've never heard an "evolutionist" spend much time discussing diamonds. They're more into, like, you know, biology.
"There's one, for example, that insists the worlds biggest rubber manufacturer holds the patent to an ultrasonic windscreen wiper with no moving parts just so they can prevent it from ever being built and destroying their lucrative market for replacement wiper blades"
Isnt their an Arthur C. Clarke novel where some guy gets filthy rich with that invention and another one for skyscraper windows? Its the one where they raise the Titanic.
Yeah. "Right conditions". Except the right conditions are man-made conditions, none of which have occurred naturally at any point in the history of the world.
I believe there are some stars or planets that are made out of diamond, though. Dunno how that works.
...And once I heard a Creation "scientist" claim that diamonds could be synthesized from graphite overnight, under the right conditions.
Speaking of synthetic diamonds, why do they call them "synthetic" anyway? If this process happens naturally, are the diamonds still synthetic?
"Synthetic" means they are artificial, not real, fakes. A bit like young earth creationism, come to think of it.
Confused?
