UBISOFT HATES GOD AND AMERICA
The very fact that this game exists is a slap in the face to all of Ubisoft's American consumers at the very least, and at most it could (and should) get them arrested and locked up for high treason should any ubisoft employees set foot in the land of the free. Ubisoft is lying to the world and trying to demonize americans as "white terrorists" and making our Lord and savior out a vessel for needless violence and intolerance.
This should not be stood for. I will not stand for it, the majority of America will not stand for it and YOU should not stand for it either. If the system works at all, if America is truly one nation under God, then this HEATHEN, this "lead designer" working on this UNHOLY project will be put befor a jury of red blooded Americans, the people they have attacked and demonized with this game, and stand trial for the crime of high treason against America, against God, and against the US Constitution!
Ubisoft, I now speak directly to you, REPENT THY SINS AND DENOUNCE THIS APOSTLE OF EVIL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD AND LADY LIBERTY! REJECT THY FALSE HEATHEN YE CALL LEAD DESIGNER AND WALK THE PATH OF LIGHT.
When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations . . . then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.

The game he's ranting about is Far Cry 5, which is set in an oppressive doomsday cult and is about taking down the cult leader. This guy took it as an insult against America and Christianity. Really telling of his image of America and Christianity, isn't it?
Oh for fucks sake....I'm so psyched to be hearing about this bullshit for the next year or so. I know it's too much to ask people to not go on right wing tirades about every video game that doesn't conform exactly to their worldview, but my god, can't you at least wait until it's actually released? Or even remotely close to being released?
Fuck your lord., there, mocked. Done and done, now for the reality part, Ubisoft is french, not american company.
The "Batman: Arkham" games are by Rocksteady Studios: in Britain.
Are you going to boycott their products too?!
IN THE NAME OF THE LORD AND LADY LIBERTY !
...so you're going to give the latter back: to France ...?! [/mega-paradox]
So, by this logic, just from the Far Cry series, Ubisoft also hates Nepal because Far Cry 4 was set in a fictional country bordering it, Africa because Far Cry 2 was set there, small islands because both Far Cry 1 and 3 were set on one, and the 80s in general because Blood Dragon was a pastiche of action movies from that era.
They also hate Troy Baker, Dwayne Hill, Robert Burns, Michael Mando, and Danny Blanco Hall, because they were the people to voice the respective main bad guys of those games. How dare they agree to voice someone in our game and get paid money from us for that.
EDIT: Oh, and they must really hate fire, because it's incredibly fucking easy to set absolutely everything on fire in Far Cry 2 onward. I had an assassination target in that game clear out all his own bodyguards for me because they ran to hide in a hangar and then somehow set it on fire.
For someone claiming to be against intolerance, this idiot seems pretty intolerant himself against fictional depictions of cultists who aren't meant to represent white American Christians as a whole. I'm not into the Far Cry franchise in general, but I wouldn't mind the opportunity to blow heads off virtual Waco-esque fundie psychos. Let's hope OP here doesn't go bombing the Ubisoft headquarters.
@Thinking Allowed
...that would make an awesome video game
If it was based on id Tech 6, and included the Strogg, Plasma Rifles, Lightning Guns, Super Shotguns, Nailguns, Rocket Launchers, Gauss Cannons, BFG 9000s & Dark Matter Guns.
And it must have Quad Damage. [/id Software]
...oh, and throw in the Hovertanks from "Quake IV", for good measure: for that authentic Judges 1:19 feel. There's a game which could feature "DOOM IV"'s Dr. Samuel Hayden: Crucible Hellblade and all...! >:D
And for the very first time, I may actually buy an Ubisoft game. Because busting some redneck arse actually feels cathartic, after all the crap they have caused lately. Just be grateful this is only virtual.
Just a bit of reality check here poeple, it`s still Ubisoft, it`s not exactly a good nor respectful game company, it`s okay to spite christian fundies but don`t give money to these selfish, monetizing shitheads. Treat yourself to a good indie instead!
If this is about the Far Cry 5 controversy again...
For those not in the know, the game features the player as a deputy trying to take down a doomsday cult in the US. Says a lot about how the OP views America and Christianity...
Also, the fact that you can choose to play as a female protagonist this time probably doesn't stand well with guys like the OP. All the better.

Just out of curiosity, what do you like about Quake IV so much anyway? I mean, I've played it and it's not bad, but it's no Doom IV. Also find Crysis and Halo better FPS' TBH.

While I agree that indie developers tend to care more about the product they're making than the profits they can get from them, and the fact that Ubisoft is making the once great Assassin's Creed games into a franchise zombie, there are still a lot of big gaming companies that make pretty good games.
...Of course, then tend to ruin the potential with executive meddling, but still doesn't make the games horrible.
@Timjer
Well, a very few good ones, at least to my tastes. There`s the ID games, which are suprisingly good since the new Wolf, there`s Creative Assembly with their Alien Iso and Warhammer TW and to me personally that is it. Of course there`s fuckload of stuff from Paradox and From Software I`ll always play but they are not to be confused with big companies, they are what was once caled middle of the road(yeah the meddle with paid dlc but they tend to offer a lot of content for it, they will charge you 40$ premiere but rarely 60$, you know not the heroes of the industry, not the villains exactly either but as long as they supply me with stuff like Stellaris and Dark Souls I am fine with them).
@Skide :
I respected Fromsoftware a lot when they said "Dark Souls has been fully tapped. It's over". They could have easily milked it to dust at the expense of the series' reputation but they didn't. Leaves me looking forward to what they'll give us next, too, because now we know it'll be something new.

While I have heard a lot of good things aboud DS (and Bloodborne), and am sure they're very good games, their genre is just not my thing. Regardless I have much more respect for them then I have for Ubisoft and AC. I used to like those games a lot, but lately they've just milked the cow dryer than a desert and still can't stop. A new game each year without an end in sight might seem awesome, but it isn't. Especially since it's become obvious they have no idea where they're taking the story anymore.
From the blurb
Welcome to Hope County, Montana, home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as Eden’s Gate. Stand up to cult leader Joseph Seed & his siblings, the Heralds, to spark the fires of resistance & liberate the besieged community.
and the trailer
It's looking pretty good.
@Timjer :
I started ignoring the Assassin's Creed series around the time Ubisoft started ignoring the Assassin's Creed plot. I don't think I've even watched a trailer for one since... whichever one was the pirate one. They, like many other bloated publishers, don't even know how to fucking count anymore (which might explain their absolutely baffling "understanding" of finances) so you end up with a 3 slapped on the fifth or sixth game. Because when you're pumping out a game a year for 12 years, the last think you want is to be able to keep track of them without a detailed franchise map.
@Timjer
"Quake IV" represented what I'd always wanted from the scenario since "Quake II": battling the Strogg, and all that jazz. Those weapons .
These days, the Makron is our ally : he being elected recently, and destroying the real enemy: the Nazi Navy La Penis. >:D
Considering "Quake Champions", one can only hope - with id Tech 6 - what a continuation of said scenario would be like with a "Quake V".
"DOOM IV" did incorporate that old favourite, Quad Damage...!
This is about Far Cry 5 right? How the villains are a white christian nationalist group that took over a small town and plan to spread their influence? Thing is such groups do exist and while most don't have the guts to actually do what happens in this upcoming game something like this isn't impossible. The fact that it bothers people shows that it hits close to home.
I hope they never discover BioShock Infinite.
"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations . . . then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy."
Can we make a whole bunch of treaties with them, and then just ignore them all, instead?
It is the American way, after all.

"She stands atop her mountain peak, looking very elitist and lonely with her indies which apparently nobody but her ever played" ;)
At least you guys have fun and get to talk about it with someone else than your one person who will sometimes pick your stuff. Ehh, it`s too late for me anyway, it was when I could not move past the DLC and the very idea that a 60$ game must be and will be all I ever pay for a product and that I will not be disrespected by a fuckhead in a suit treating me like a cow instead of their valued friend and a customer. Same happened with pretty much every medium. The world moves and I refuse to budge an inch from the early 2000s...
Call it integrity, call it stubborness, call it stupidity or just call it Skidie.
ps. I still have my stuff, only nobody else plays it cause people like their stuff easily accesible and a relaxation instead of a grueling challenge and sleepless nights spent crying over a hundredth time some impossible thing escaped me by a grasp.
Confused?
