[Defending Christian child sacrifice]
Druids sacrificing children is an abomination but god asking for child sacrifices is acceptable.

EXODUS 22'29

It'd be interesting to try Exodus 22:29 as an argument for abortion (possibly with some circumlocution regarding the whole 'first-born' bit). I mean, God's supposed to speak in a multitude of ways, most of which are far more vague than 3x5 cards with instructions printed on them falling out of books and the like.
This is what happens when you define "good" as "anything God wants." If God isn't held to the same objective standard of "good" as everyone else, and found to be superior, he's not worth worshipping (if he/she/it even exists). Worth appeasing, possibly, but that's not the same thing.

Whoa. That's just insane! And completely out of order. Do Christians ACTUALLY sacrifice children? *horror*
No, they don't. However, the ancient Jews did, and he's trying to justify that.
Well, they were allowed to replace the kid, with a lamb IIRC. Less horrific, but still a complete waste.
In fact they also had to sacrifice the firstborn of all their cattle (replacing an ass with with a lamb was also possible), imagine the number of animals sacrificed to the ego of the sky fairy...
Honestly, the Bible does say in several places that God demands the firstborns. There is a reference in Numbers to setting aside a certain number of human captives as "God's tribute."
Human sacrifice was practiced in the Ancient Near East, and it's usually fundies who try to wave away those passages.
"It's not bad when I do it!"
And I bet you call yourself Pro-Life, too, don'tcha?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
