If the punishment for murder and espionage (also known as high treason) is death, then what should be the punishment for the one who disbelieves in the Lord of mankind and despises and rejects His religion? Is espionage or shedding blood worse than leaving the religion of the Lord of mankind and rejecting it?
None of those who bleat about personal freedom and freedom of belief would put up with a neighbour’s child hitting their child or justify this as "personal freedom," so how can they justify leaving the true religion and rejecting the sharee’ah which Allaah revealed to teach mankind about His unity and bring justice and fairness to all?

No, Oriet it doesn't work that way. Muslims feel the need to punish anybody they feel has insulted their god (Allah). It doesn't look like Allah can take care of himself, so they feel the need to take matters into their own hands, a process that usually involves somebody getting killed.
Look, inmate22841, I'm not talking about the way things are SUPPOSED TO BE, but the way things ARE. Look at what happened over the Danish cartoon incident. The point is that they DON'T follow their books "correctly"
"It doesn't look like Allah can take care of himself, "
Change Allah with the Christian Jehovah. What has changed?
Borborygmus , that's a very broad brush you're painting with.
Yeah, this guy is a certified nutter. But not all Muslims are like him, and only the extremists try to convert by force.
And for every Muslim fundie quote, there is one just like it with Jesus/God instead of Mohammed/Allah.
I have no use for a prophet who can't hold his liquor, hates music, and is afraid of women.
I have no use for a bullshitting blood god either.
Borborygmus - So do you belive ALL muslims are the same then?
Is every Muslim in the world a wide eyed racist suicide bomber then?
The KKK are a White Christian organisation. Does that mean ALL white people are racists?
I have seen posts on this site reguarly where Christians make similar threats against non-believers. No one suggests all Christians are the same.
The difference, dear, and your ancestors understood it better than you do, apparently, is that, if I go to Church, or you go to the Mosque for that matter, what's the effect on you?, NOTHING. You can go to the Mosque, you can pray your prayer and keep with your life. That's what we call freedom.
"Is espionage or shedding blood worse than leaving the religion of the Lord of mankind and rejecting it?"
Yes, Shaykh shedding blood IS A LOT WORSE.
Espionage I'm not so mad about.
@Caustic Gnostic: Actually, from what I understand, Mohammad loved women. In fact, apparently his own wife was a well respected business woman! O_o
Inmate 22841: This site is about fundies. They assume their own little cult is the real religion. So, yes, the KKK believes their religion of white supremecy was decreed by god, and other christian-like religions who accept race mixing are not the real religion. When they talk about christianity they mean their own little cult, not catholics or methodists.
The Islamic towelhead featured here thinks the same way as the American sheetheads. His own cult is the only real Islam.
Thank you, Mister Spak, that was my point exactly. Yes, there are plenty of Muslims who would never hurt a fly, but the Shaykh here is not one of them. He does equate leaving Islam with murder and espionage and child abuse. In other words, in his eyes this is a not just a sin, but a heinous CRIME, calling for earthly punishment.
And look what was done to Salmaan Rushdie for writing "The Satanic Verses." Or Theo van Gogh.
Yes, we've got Christian nuts of our own. Randall Terry and Fred Phelps come to mind. But they are mostly laughed at. And American fundies have to try to sneak their religion in through the back door by calling it Creation "Science." I'm sure a lot of Christian fundies would LIKE to turn blasphemy into a crime (with suitable bloody punishment), but there's no way it's going to happen. When's the last time we had a street riot over an insult to Christianity?
Espionage is not treason. Being a double agent could be considered treason, but spying for your country is service, not treason.
Punishment for disbelief? How 'bout punishment FOR belief? Of course, in some ways, believing in nonsense is it's own punishment.
My response will take the same form as it often does when people claim or imply I'm criminal for disbelieving their religion or insulting their god...
If Allah has a problem with it, let him come speak to me himself. I don't deal with purported middlemen.

No.
BUT.
As Richard Dawkins has pointed out, "respecting" the irrational beliefs of religious moderates paves the way for religious extremists to get a foothold. After all, there are plenty of passages in the Bible and the Koran that DO command the faithful to put the unfaithful to death -- and the religious moderates never have the guts to say "that part of my holy book is just plain WRONG."
" Is espionage or shedding blood worse than leaving the religion of the Lord of mankind and rejecting it?" - yes, it is.
"None of those who bleat about personal freedom and freedom of belief would put up with a neighbour’s child hitting their child or justify this as "personal freedom," so how can they justify leaving the true religion and rejecting the sharee’ah which Allaah revealed to teach mankind about His unity and bring justice and fairness to all?" - simple - In your scenario I know for sure, that this neighbour's child exists, and hitting it harms it. I challenge you to proof that changing your religion causes harm to anyone. And, no, the Koran does not count anymore than the Bible, the Tora or the ancient greek myths.
Confused?
