Step one. Bible reading back in all schools, all grades.
Step two. Enforce the "life" part of life, liberty... with respect to abortion.
Separation of church and state does not extend to God and state. God gives rights to people, people give rights to the state.

Forgive the simple history lesson but when the Plymouth Colony was established in 1620, the bible that the Pilgrims used was the Geneva Bible. They did not like the King James version because it was the bible of the Church of England, a state church! Yes, the American forefathers were deeply religious but they never intended to create a theocracy. We have enough problems already. The last thing we need is a holy war over which bible we should scare our children with in kindergarten.
-Don't be surprised when most of the students, whether atheists or nonchristians or just opposed to theocracy on principal, wipe their asses with the pages of your book of second-rate fairy tales and then invite you to fuck yourself with them.
-Why am I not surprised that you left out the "pursuit of happiness" portion? Can't have that getting the way of your anticonstitutional crusade against basic freedoms.
You don't know what your talking about with either of your bullet points so I'm not particularly surprised that you have no understanding of incredibly complicated words like "church" and "god" and "does".
Then, when the Qu'ran, Torah or whatever is being taught as fact...
'Oh my god I thought this was supposed to be secular!'
Yeah no.
And remember kids at home, "life" only applies to fetuses and not teh geyz, minorities (scary colored people), or furreners in general.
First, define "life" in the context of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Second, identify the section in the U.S. Constitution where this term "life" applies.
people give rights to the state
Yes, and one right they specifically refused to give the state was the right of the state to endorse religion.
Enforce the "life" part of life, liberty
That's in the Declaration of Independence, which is a letter to King George III, not a law.
Should we subject kids to all of the Bible? You know, the slaughter, slavery, sexual perversity parts and all?
Step one: Go fuck yourself.
Step two: Lather, rinse, repeat.
Step three: Go to Step One.
Mhm, Penn. How will this help anyone? Reading the Bible isn't going to make anyone a good person. People read the Bible and are terrible people, and there are people who read the Torah and are terrible people. Just reading something won't make them follow it, and it might make them swear off somehting entirely. I know that in school, I hated the books we were given because I associated them with the work.
I'm not sure what you mean by "with respect to abortion", though. Like are you against it?
@Anothga
Petition seconded.
1) Does that include colleges and tech schools? How about adult education courses?
2) How do you define "life" exactly? Does that include potential life? I waste a lot of sperm during sex and my wife regularly rotates out her old stock of unfertilized eggs.
3) Which god are you talking about? Which gods give rights to people and which ones don't? Should we only worship the rights-giving gods or should we worship all of them, just to make sure we don't piss 'em off?
Sure, and how's it going to work for non-bible believers?
And you are aware the liberty part is one of the basis of Roe v. Wade?
The separation clause has already been adjudged to include persons or objects of worship
And the phrase used is "endowed by their Creator..." This could mean many different things, not just a unique, all powerful, sentient god. It could even be a metaphor.
And could you point out in the Constitution where it refers to a Creator?
Then he should fucking show up at the meetings, shouldn't he?
@Nemo
Which is why Comparative Religion Courses/textbooks are so resisted in America/Canada. The countries that are taught the roots become more secular with the religious influence being more moderate.
To run the country they need the origins shrouded in mystery so they can shape it, use only what they want and pretend it's the oldest book on the planet. They need the uneducated masses.
“Step one. Bible reading back in all schools, all grades.”
Which bible? What parts?
I recall half the dictionaries i opened in high school had words like ‘prick’ and ‘breast’ and ‘shit’ highlighted. Figure the school bibles will have a lot of markings on the verses that say the woman’s lovers were hung like mules.
“Step two. Enforce the "life" part of life, liberty... with respect to abortion.”
The bible says life begins at first breath. Let’s make sure EVERYONE reads those verses, starting in 1st grade, huh?
“Separation of church and state does not extend to God and state.”
Then let God run for office or file as a voter.
“God gives rights to people, people give rights to the state.”
What verse promises freedom of religion, idiot?
Confused?
