"A Christian does not question God, requiring logical proof. Romans 1:17 - 2 Corinthians 5:7 - Galatians 2:20 and 3:11 - Hebrews 10:38 We live by faith not by sight...."
1 Thessalonians 5:21: 'Test all things; hold fast that which is good'
Fundies would say 'Do not test the lord thy God'. What about the little matter of Abraham & Isaac. What's that, chopped liver?! If your precious deity can test others, then so can we with him. 'Sauce for the Goose', and all that jazz. Otherwise, one word: Hypocrisy. And didn't God (via Jesus) condemn hypocrites - the Pharisees?
Moral: Your own 'Word of God' orders you to test, nay, question your 'God's existence. And so what, if in the process, your so-called 'faith' is destroyed? Good. Welcome to our world. Today is the first day of the rest of your life; as in free from the yoke of unjustifiable superstitious religious 'belief'. Question everything. What harm does it do? Reality exists. It's religious 'faith' that is destroyed by the questioning, cynical mind.
'Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear'
-Thomas Jefferson
'Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.'
-Marcus Aurelius
Seems this ancient Roman won the bet before Pascal had even been born to make his 'Wager'...! [/smartarse]
