My 2 cents: First, dont forget the spiritual driving force behind this election and its outcome. Thats all I will say on that.
Second: RepententHeart: No, you dont need anyone's approval for your vote except Jesus's. And no, abortion and gay marriage dont totally define morality.... but abortion (murder) and gay marriage (adultery) look to be pretty important to God since they are in the top 10 of His commandments. I think you may want to look at the big picture and see the harm it does to a society, especially throughout history. Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength (paraphrased) and love your neighbor as yourself is supposed to sum it up. Yes, logic can help you see things all sorts of ways, but there is only one way that God sees it and we are supposed to see it the same way. Pro choice is pro murder, there is no other way to look at it that is correct in God's eyes. Just pray and be sure you can stand in front of the Lord and explain your vote to Him and you'll be ok.

Did you just suggest that 'god' is illogical? Why, I'd have to agree! >:D
I'm still looking for that mythical verse that actually says abortion is wrong. Considering it *existed* throughout the period when the Bible was written (unlike things like, say, TV) it seems to me rather telling that nobody actually bothered to say that women shouldn't do it.
To make your biggest issue as a Christian something the Bible never actually talks about seems to be a seriously messed up set of priorities. How about we all vote based on "love your neighbor as yourself" instead? The Bible actually says that one.
"No, you dont need anyone's approval for your vote except Jesus's."
I'm pretty sure that Jesus would be included in "anyone".
"And no, abortion and gay marriage dont totally define morality.... but abortion (murder) and gay marriage (adultery) look to be pretty important to God since they are in the top 10 of His commandments."
Abortion =/= murder. Homosexuality =/= adultery. Why you would think otherwise is something beyond my powers of deduction.
"Pro choice is pro murder, there is no other way to look at it that is correct in God's eyes."
Should you really be speaking on behalf of your god? Do you truly think you're qualified?
"Just pray and be sure you can stand in front of the Lord and explain your vote to Him and you'll be ok."
Why in the holy hell would you think the Grand Architect of the universe, sovereign ruler of all that is or will be would possibly give a flying fuck who you vote for?
Is your god omnipotent or not? If he is then it doesn't fucking matter who you vote for; the person your god wants in the office is going to be in the office, right? Maybe you Christians should just all not vote since you're so sure god wants McCain to be President.
I don't require anyone's approval of my vote except my own. Jesus, being, at best, a dead guy, doesn't get to approve nor disapprove on anything.
If you'll look carefully, the Bible doesn't claim Jesus HAD an opinion on abortion and the only Bible passage which might deal vaguely with abortion confirms that human embryos and fetuses are worth less than actual human beings. No death penalty for the death of a fetus, but death for the death of the mother, therefore, your own Bible doesn't proclaims a fetus to be less than a human being.
Of course, since the Bible is ancient twaddle, I don't really care what it says. Thought you might, though.
I just can't get deep enough into this delusion to understand what people like this are thinking.

(Somewhere in imagined Heaven) "Jesus hotline.... No, kissing your parakeet is not beastiality. "Jesus hotline.... Yes, a vote for Obama is a vote for Pazuzu.... Third devil on the right.... Didn't you ever see The Exorcist?.... Yeah... Linda Blair, pea soup... that one. Thanks for calling. Jesus hotline...."

Actually, "adultery" is an edit. The original states, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife." Apparently, it was ok to screw around with single women, or maybe only women can be guilty of adultery? God the misogynist strikes again! That still doesn't explain how gay marriage qualifies as adultery.
Go eat a lobster and go to hell.
How can gay marriage be adultery?
"See the harm it does to a society"
For the last time. Not being able to oppress people does not count as being harmed or discriminated against.
"Yes, logic can help you see things all sorts of ways,"
But when you can't use it the way you want, you throw the toy out of the pram.
"there is no other way to look at it that is correct in God's eyes"
Like you would know.
"Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength"
You first, hypocrite!
Gay marriage isn't adultery. Numerous passages in the Bible make it clear that adultery is having sex with someone other than your spouse. Gay sex is condemned, of course; but it's only one of hundreds of things that are condemned, including things almost everybody does that are even worse, like working on the Sabbath. People who worry about gay marriage form their bigoted opinions first; then they cherry-pick the Bible for stuff that agrees with them and pretend it was all God's idea.
Nothing in the Bible suggests abortion is murder. The only thing that comes close to the subject is a passage about causing a miscarriage, which is punishable by payment to the father (same as if you caused one of his goats to miscarry).
GAY MARRIAGE = ADULTERY
that's a new apeshit definition.
They will bend scripture, lie for Jeebus, just to get their own way.
Mendacious and hypocritical even for RR!
PS they're having a fundie fight, where one poor soul said that Democrats weren't demons. The shit sure hit the fan after that!!
but abortion (murder)...
As soon as the fetus starts paying rent, you might have merit. Until then, for all intents and purposes, it's a parasite, and should be allowed to be removed as such should the woman carrying it choose to do so..
...and gay marriage (adultery)...
And...ah...how do two men or women pledging to love, honor and commit to each other for the rest of their lives adultery? Unless you mean that some of us will stumble, in which case, you're for dissolving marriage as an institution altogether, yes?
"First, dont forget the spiritual driving force behind this election and its outcome. "
Second, don't forget your invisible spook isn't real.
1: Your bible does not consider abortion murder. Look up Exodus 21: 22-23, thank you.
2. Adultery is the act of having sex with someone other than the one you are married to.
Fail and Fail.
Funny how the people at RR love all the commandments except for that pesky little 9th commandment about not lying which gets in the way of their political agenda.PSAnd their is NO COMMANDMENT about abortion, the word is never mentioned in the Bible. Read your damn Bibles and quit making shit up and inserting it in to fit your politics, liars.
No, sunshine, abortion is not murder and gay marriage is not adultery, not even according to your goofy Bible. And what is Jesus doing messing around in American politics? It's screwed up enough as it is, we don't don't need him butting in.
Pro life is pro control, there is no other way to look at it that is correct in fundies' eyes. Just pray and be sure you can stand in front of George W. and explain your vote to Him and you'll be ok.
Problem solved, shithead2777!
