i think its simple, we don't have to go into all of the other evidence, but I think of it like this: we have something called radar, and when planes leave the airport, they are constantly being tracked by this. We also have something called NORAD, who's entire purpose is to stop terrorist attacks. They also are supposed to stop attacks like 9/11. But alas, even though we had all of that, no NORAD, even though those planes were off course for over 1 and 45 minutes. But other planes that have went off course and were intercepted by the military and NORAD within minutes, but not on 9/11. Why? Was radar not working that day? How about NORAD? I would love to here the excuses this time.

I think he's referring to planes that fall off course accidently and stray into restricted airspace.
I don't really see how this qualifies for FSTDT. Has nothing to do with religion, really... I mean yeah, the guy is misunderstanding some of the fundamentals about radar. But nothing major :'
Minion, I think it's nominated because it's a loony conspiracy theory. I'd agree it's toward the low end of what's acceptable, but it's the same mindset - this is what happened, damn the evidence.
"We also have something called NORAD, who's entire purpose is to stop terrorist attacks." - Actually NORAD is for tracking objects in space and was created to track incoming ballistic nuclear missiles. This is so that the US government would have sufficient warning to launch theirs in retaliation before everyone was killed. It does not exist to protect anyone, it exists to make sure as many Russians die as possible if they launch a nuclear attack on the US.
Tracking aircraft is the responsibility of air traffic controlers organised by the FAA. They are not responsible for stopping terrorist attacks using planes, no one is (or at least no one was before 9/11). This guy has obviously not done even the slightest bit of research into his conspiracy theory either because he is too lazy, too stupid or because he wants to believe too much.
<<< It does not exist to protect anyone, it exists to make sure as many Russians die as possible if they launch a nuclear attack on the US. >>>
In a sense, that does protect us. It certainly does make others hesitate a bit when they know that if they try anything, we'll make sure they go down with us.
"constantly being tracked"
No they're not. Air-traffic control deals with areas, congested areas in particular. This is why we have navigators and flight plans in the commercial industry and restrictions in private aviations.
Like it or not, 9/11 was well planned
The military defends the borders and has some internal restricted areas. It's by no means monitoring all air-traffic.
"We also have something called NORAD, who's entire purpose is to stop terrorist attacks."
Now there's a massive 20th Century History FAIL.
“We also have something called NORAD, who's entire purpose is to stop terrorist attacks.”
Um, no. NORAD watches the airspace between Canada and Russia. THey look for missiles, frankly. Some planes, but it’d be more of an invasion like Red Dawn. Not one or four planes that are idetified by their transponders. And are BEHIND NORAD’s line.
"They also are supposed to stop attacks like 9/11.”
Not really. But the whole POINT of the attack was using assets that no one was alarmed about until it was too late.
“But alas, even though we had all of that, no NORAD, even though those planes were off course for over 1 and 45 minutes. But other planes that have went off course and were intercepted by the military and NORAD within minutes, but not on 9/11. Why?”
Goint off course doesn’t get you shot down. Going over the white house or flying over Pittsburgh while the president’s having a rally there, that’s got planes on standby and they respond instantly.
Nothing keyed the jets to the attack until buildings were hit.
"Was radar not working that day?”
The attack was planned to take advantage of routine.
“How about NORAD? I would love to here the excuses this time.”
NORAD doesn’t track airline traffic inside the nation. You’re essentially asking why the Coast Guard didn’t block the planes. It’s not their job or jurisdiction.
Confused?
