[On the "Twilight" series]
My step-daughter loves this series. Unfortunately, I have seen more and more evil in her life since she read the first book. I almost started reading it the other day so I could help counsel teens troubled by the themes in this book, but I could not even pick it up due to the evil spirit exuding from the picture on the cover.

Oh noes! Not an apple! NOT AN APPLE!
Seriously, I don't like those books, but AN APPLE? You're scared of AN APPLE?
Oh thank god, brother! Insisting that you try something out before bashing it is Satan's way of tempting you out of your psychological fox-hole and, thusly, out from under the protective thumb of the Lord. Don't let the Devils mantra of "know what you're talking about before you open your yap" tempt you from your holy fortress of ignorance. That way leads to the Sin of Thought!
She's become more evil since reaading it. No, that is just her being a regular teen, dealing with hormones, and testing her independence. It's a positive thing actually.
Twilight sucks. But I blame it more on the fact that it's an exceptionally poorly-written book with irritating characters and even MORE irritating fans.
Mostly those insane people who think Edward Cullen is perfect and sexy and wonderful (he's an abusive rapist jackass!)
I know the book sucks, but come ON.
Isn't 'pure evil' going a little far? The only thing about this book that could 'trouble' young people is the horrendous writing.
Anyway, seeings as the cover IS a reference to Eve and the forbidden fruit (something about Bella being a forbidden temptation to Edward or some shit), I'm not going to deny that it does have certain...connotations, but Christ.
I promise Bella's inhumanely perfect hands aren't going to tempt you to Hell.
Mm. I hate Twilight, but just because it's horribly cliched and written doesn't mean it's evil.
But seriously, come on. If your only weakness is that you glitter in the sunlight, why the hell are you complaining? Angsty little shit.
Hm, I recently picked up a copy of "Twilight". It was trivial entertainment and easy reading. The funny thing is, that it`s full of christian moral. It promotes the archetypical "strong man protects weak women" constellation and such things. So please, tell me: What evil spirits do you talk about? It even takes the side of creationism against evolution. It should be your wet dream.
That was the spirit of crappy writing, Mary Sues, and sparkly vampires. It's not evil, just annoying and retarded.

OH NOEZ!!! NOT TEH APPLES!!!
OH!! WHATS THAT!! A CHESS PEICE!!!
IT'S TEH EBILZ!!!
The only evil spirit exuding from Twilight is the eye-shittingly awful prose, the flat as a kitchen table characters, and the legions of godawful fanboys who clutter up the internets with their poorly written slash fiction.
Harry Potter misses all the attention he used to get.... :'(
Dungeons and Dragons, too. You just don't see fundies freaking out over D&D anymore.
The times they are a-changin'.
Hey I hate the books too, but mostly because they've taken something as cool as vampires and made them into misunderstood Emo creatures (I blame Anne Rice for starting this shit).
Get her to read some real vampire books.
Then again, I had to go through this shit with my parents. Except as a young teen I was reading Jane Eyre and Lord of the Rings. Evil, evil books.
My God. Just when I thought the Twilight bullshit was over. But seriously, Twilight is the most Christian book I've read since I skimmed the first chapter of one of those Left Behind books. (It was an Xmas present and I didn't want to be rude.)
They both suck by the way.
@Antichrist
How the hell is Jane Eyre evil?
"My step-daughter loves this series. Unfortunately, I have seen more and more evil in her life since she read the first book."
So it's led to her reading other books? Good for her. She has taken the first steps to becoming a fully realised, self-thinking, intelligent individual.
Stepdaughter of txmomof3, welcome to the human race. You have truly seen the light. I trust you'll continue your literary voyage. Only good things can come from such.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
